Reactive T and Hyperacusis

Can someone please explain to me what Reactive Tinnitus is? I have the Type of T where noise makes it worse, especially certain noises and wonder if I have reactive T. I believe that I have Hyperacusis and find certain noises hurt my ears and then the T flares, so maybe this goes along with the Hyperacusis and is not Reactive T. I have alot of pressure and fullness in my ears at times which is really uncomfortable. I am just confused as to what is going on with me as the white noise machines make my T seem worse and bother my ears.

Sounds like you have reactive T. I have it my T cannot be masked. It increases its volume to be heard as outside noise levels rise. The pressure in your ears is one I don't have. Pressure in the ears usually means your sinuses are clogged, or there's fluid in your ears maybe you have alergys. Hyperacusis is common after a noise related injury to the ear. The only way I can atempt to sleep is to listen to a fan in the good ear and focus on that. Sometimes it works and I can sleep. If you havn't been to an ent, it would be good to get checked out.

I too have been told I have reactive T. Noise brings mine up and quiet brings it down.
It was told to me it was not hyperacusis because noise does not hurt me, it just irritates me when it goes up.
It sounds like you have Hyeracusis.
You should go to an ENT and get it checked like David414 suggested.
I did hear that TRT could help with hyperacusis.
