My T started after I took a large amount of Aleve. It was prescribed by a doctor for back pain. I suspect noise trauma from much earlier also contributed to the T but the Aleve was the trigger.

Yes the Pramipexole still seems to work. I've been on it long enough to loose my baseline but I suspect there is still a 40% to 60% reduction in volume.

Sulpiride is a similar medicine approved for sale in Europe but not the US.

As a result of the aforementioned study I have been taking a pramipexole 1.5 mg tablet three times a day for about three months. My family doctor said let's give it a try. As of to-date I am sorry to say I have not had any postive results. I still have the ringing really bad. I will have two days without any ringing then on the third morning between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. it will start and last for five days then the same o, same o all over again. It moves from the right ear to the left ear then back again. As I speak, 6:30 p.m. it is really loud. In order to sleep I listen to music on my I-pod.

Do you hear the T with the music on?

Hey suera. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes the Pramipexole still works for me. I take .25mg in the morning and .5 in the evening for a total of .75. I also still take 600mg of Trileptal. I feel bad for talking about a med that doesn't work for everyone or even most people but I've been a lot better since I've started. My current doc would like to see me come off it so I suppose at some point I'll find out how much it really helps me.

It would be interesting to see if anyone else in this t group has taken this drug and what side effects it had on them.

Maybe this was already posted, and I did not see it.

I take Pramipexole and Trileptal similar to what BobsDream mentioned earlier in this thread. I was on .375mg of Prami and 1200mg of Trileptal. Unfortunately, I developed a rash and itchiness, and we don't know if it's from the high does of Trilep, the Prami, or the combo since neither drug is supposed to do that, especially not the Prami. So now I am trying Trilep at 300mg (which worked great for about 10 days, then I got some hissing and brain buzzes again). Then I was told to add in just a little bit of Prami (.25mg) and that is where I am now. Today my T is so quiet I can barely hear it and I have no itchiness or rash. I will see how long this low T lasts and let you know.

Mirapex is Pramipexole. : )

Trileptal doesn't make me sleepy--I wish it did, maybe I would sleep better at night! : )

I have been taking Pramipexole for about 6 months now with no postive results. May get my doc. to prescribe Trileptal after I do my own research. Thanks.
