I go to the University of Buffalo tomorrow to meet with a t specialist Dr Christina Stocking... I think Dr Richard Salvi does his research there, and he's among the most astute t researchers today... took me 2 12/ months to get in!.

I was told it was THE place to go... they have between 150-200 T sufferers going there, many of them severe cases... I hope they can give me good advice, and they demonstrate various devices..
. T maskers/aids/Neuromonics etc.. I plan on asking them what treatments have been most successful with their really bad cases... I will post here about with my experience there within a few days.. bob

Anything out there as far as any drugs that might help lower tinnitus?

Deltadart... Not that she mentioned. Same old same old... Klonopin/Gabapentin ,Nortriptylene, etc... You are correct in your thinking IMHO.. Some sort of effective pill so we can escape here and there would make this so much easier to deal with. Just knowing it was at hand when you needed it would be a tremendous thing... Here's hoping.... bob

Came down with tinnitus 12 years ago this month. Right now going to the local tinnitus clinic will be just a waste of time and money. It sounds like I know just as much as they do. Sorry to feel that way. Will save my money and deal with my tinnitus my way. I get the feeling I actually know more about it than what the expert's know. That's really sad in a way but it's just reality.

Wow, I paid $6500 - lucky!!!!

Hey, When I put in my aids - my tinnitus drops - my brain gets distracted with all sorts of high pitched crap -

Traffic just outside the window - someone taking a bath down the hall - the TV on in the next room.

Do you have 30 days to decide? I signed a contract.

BTW: My doc was two hours each way - I finished TRT -

And NOW......I go to a doc 25 miles away who can program my Widex Zens for me -

He's be nice and waiting for me to upgrade - at his office - and recommend him - so he didn't get the first $6500 -

But, I am sure I'll be paying something.

When you finish TRT and are transitioning - you will want to find someone closer to home - they break - they unprogram themselves - their mechanical - yada yada yada

I drove two hours each way - did the deed - it worked for me

And some audios have 60 days with Widex and give it to their patients - soooo

Don't think there is no turning back

BTW: Siemens has a blue tooth that will interface with Ipods and let you listen to white noise or whatever - only you know it's playing

You can play white noise, pink noise - Pink Floyd - Yeah - technology is rushing on -

RIP - Steve Jobs - Siemens made their aid to interface with your product - and those oldies are goldies.

Bob, it seems that the current treatment of TRT or hearing aids is the only thing out there besides meds. But thanks for reporting back to us. I'm with DeltaDart on this one. It seems we all know just about as much as all the specialists, if not more. I'll keep praying for a cure in the near future.
