The best of luck to you and please make sure you get back to us. Very interested on what information they will have for people with very severe tinnitus. I live very close to a tinnitus clinic here in Iowa and will be going to it as soon as a few things get taken care of. I want to compare what info you get and the info I will get. I only hope the best for you.

I have an appt here in NZ in a months time at a Tinnitus clinic. Neuromonics was great when my T was less severe 4 years ago, now its tortuous. Hoping they can help again

Hi all.. Had a long GRUELING day.. almost 4 hour drive each way, and then my friend sat in the waiting room from 12:15 to 5 PM, while I was subjected to a battery of tests... Dr Christian Stocking was a class act, and very knowledgeable.
She didn't teach me lot I didn't already know about T, as these message boards, and my own experience have made me an "expert" in rapid order.. She was reassuring, professional, and pretty much no nonsense... She does not see a quick fix cure on the horizon, feels we will have a long wait, but says research is proceeding at an accelerated rate, with better funding.... My high end hearing loss, is pretty significant, as all the other teats I have had have shown... Nothing new...

I think she feels that the Widex Zen aids would be of benefit,,, Either that or some other aid/masker appliance.
The price of 2 brand new Widex Clear 440 aids was quoted at $5500.. Pricey, but still $1,000 less than what others have been paying.. That includes fitting and several follow ups...
They also do Neuromonics, but she didn't feel it was the best choice in my case... btw, she told me my T type was very common...
T sound was perceived at aroung 11K as best as she could determine... Nothing groundbreaking, but somewhat reassuring I suppose... ... I will post if I decide to go with the Widex... I asked her what she would do, if she were in my exact position, knowing what she knew.. She said she would go with the widex aids.... We'll see... bob

Mandie Grace, who used to post on here frequently, uses the Widex Zens and is very happy with them. In some states hearing aids are starting to be covered by insurance and also if you have a Medical Savings Account, they will also often be covered through that.

So your hearing loss is in the upper range as is mine, I've never had any of the doctors I've went to say I need hearing aids...well we are al different. I will be interested to know how these Widex Zens work for you. I am so happy you found a qualified professional to help you (no easy task!). Let us know how you are going to proceed and what your results are, I sure hope this helps you.
