I dont know what your tinnitus is like. Today mine is hissing high. I do know the annoyance of loud music and having to leave a sports place where I was attending a get together because they turned on all the TV's in the place for a game and I remember thinking OMGosh this is too loud. So, in go the ear plugs. Amazingly though when I got home my tinnitus seemed lower because I was at home in a normal sounding environment. I sometimes have sound sensitivity as well. But the one thing Im not going to do is let this thing turn me into someone Im not. I dont go out to bars for New Year's celebrations but if I go to someones house and they have music, or they have a rum punch, or set off firecrackers, Im gonna just put in my earplugs, drink my rum punch, listen to the music because Im not going to let tinnitus take away my joy. I absolutely refuse to let it have that part of me. Your tinnitus must be awful for you to be one firework away from suicide. Dont know how long you've had it or what it's like for you because I dont know your personal story. It just saddens me for you that you've had to alter your lifestyle to such an extent and that it has driven you to type the word suicide. My heart does go out for you. Im not condemning you in any way. We each have to deal with our tinnitus the best we can and we each do it differrently. I do hope and pray for you that your tinnitus is low on New Years Eve and that you are able to have, even if its a low key type, of get together to enjoy the holiday. Best Wishes, Judy
