My GP put me on 10mg. Thorazine once or twice a day as needed.
Very low dose of a anti psychotic med. He said better than benzos as it is much much less habit forming.
Ask your Doc about it for the short run.Let him know you need the help. Then you can worry about getting use to it later.

Since your tinnitus has still not fully settled in its new home in your head, you might have a chance to kick it out using a drug called Retigabine/Potiga.
You must ask your neurologist and do a 3 month course at around 600mg - 900mg dosage - tapering up of course as per your neurologist instructions.
You can check out a whole thread on this drug with user experienceson. The people who did poorly on this drug had T longer.

LG, I take OTC L-Tryptophan (two 500mg pills) and 50 or 75 mg of Nortryptaline to sleep. I've taken as much as 100mg of Nortryp at times. My problem is not with falling asleep but staying asleep. The L-Tryp seems to keep me asleep most nights. When I tried Ambien I was told if you wake up after a few hours on it, try taking 1/2 a pill before bed, then when you wake up 4-5 hrs later, take the other half. (Keep it beside your bed with a little water.)
Do you just connect it to a tinnitus app on your phone?
