Hi Debjg I can't understand the tv either sometimes it sound like there mumbling.Im going to another ent sometime this week.Keep doing reserch on the internet. What did the 1st ent say? Let me know what the 2nd ent says? good luck.

i have trouble with the tv to if the subtitles arent on. sounds distorted to me.

The first one said I had a little nerve damage in my right ear, but my ears are fine. Come back in 6 mos.The 2nd one said I have sensoneural hearing loss and is sending me for an MRI.I am really worried now.

Don't be worried about the MRI. This is standard procedure to rule out anything like a tumor that may be causing hearing problems. These tumors are very very very rare.
I sometimes have to strain to hear things over my T. My last hearing test said my hearing is fine (slight high pitch hearing loss). I also had the MRI and they found a crayon in my frontal lobe (just kidding - joke for any Homer Simpson fans). I did have the MRI and no tumors. I think I remember reading that only 1 in 100 will have a tumor causing hearing problems.

Thanks JohnK, The reason why I'm worried is because the type tumor is a schwannoma and that is what I just had removed from my liver. They said that was rare being on my liver that it was usually on your brain or spinal cord. I am really scared, but I hope and pray thats not whats wrong! Thank you for your reply...Deb

I had an MRI done and I was hoping they would find something. at least I would have known for sure what was causing T, and there could have been a direct treatment for it. Albeit possibly life threatening, but I didnt really care at that point. The loud sounds from the mri machine is terrible, I recommend a xanax or shot of vodka before hand.

I was using closed caption while watching TV even before the T got bad.
