This saturday my parents are going to have a joint Bday celebration at a function hall...there will be singing, piano and violin performances, clapping and definitely loud conversations
in other words it's going to be my "first" loud event after having T. I'm worried and I just want to ask some opinion on this matter. I have musician's ear plugs at 25 and 15 Dcb, I have Hearos 32 NRR foam plugs, I also got 25 Dcb ear muffs. Guys what should I use? Any tips on how long I should stay? Thanks!

Do you have reactive tinnitus? Foam earplugs are pretty bad about blocking speech and not really ideal for social situation.

Maybe you could attend and if things get too loud even with ear plugs then step out into the hallway or bathroom to give your T a break. I had my daughter's bday at our house--- lots and lots of people. It was loud, but there was no way I was missing out on it so from time to time I disappeared into the bedroom upstairs to someplace quieter for a few minutes here and there. Good luck! My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
