My thought regarding this or any other cronic condition, is if things are not improving or getting worst then it would be best to look at alternate remedies.
Therfore if those masking devices are not quite assisting you anymore would prob be best to take a second look at masking devices such as TRT. I know its is expensive, but consultation regarding TRT or something similar may be warranted.
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Is TRT like hypnosis? I supposed I could check the treatments section of this site
Thanks for your concern. I feel like since so far everything I tried either doesn't work, costs too much or is bogus, why bother?
I know exactly what you mean. Mine has been getting worse since June. I don't know what the answer is.
However you asked about Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT). Below are some websites that may give you an idea of what TRT is about.
TRT was created by Pawel J. Jastreboff in association with Jonathan Hazell. Here are there websites.

http://www.tinnitus.org/ (Hazell's website)
This is Dr. Stephen Naglers website. He has tinnitus and used to run a tinnitus clinic. By all accounts he was greatly helped by TRT.

And finally here is a patients view of TRT. Note it was written in 1997 and their are different protocols for different types of T.

Fran here on this forum has your back story - she is doing so well - and she talked to me personally at length.
Go to bat for yourself - you have 30 days to try it - also look out for neuromonics - apparently three people who posted here said they shelled out $5000.00 and felt no change in their tinnitus - I have not tried it but I researched the heck out of it - could not find but one poster on the entire internet (outside neuromonics themselves) that said it worked - but I have a dozen positive stories on TRT
Ride on the grief and experience of others who have been there and done that - because if we can't use it to help someone else it was all for nothing.
