I've had T for maybe 27+ years. It's been severe for about a year and a half now. I've been wearing ear maskers for over a year now and for me they have been a sanity saver. Since I got severe T and the maskers, I have not gone a day without turning them on medium to high volume. Over the past two weeks, I've gone three days without turning them on at all. I can't say for sure if my T on some days is not so intense or I'm actually just habitating to it.

My wife asked me a few weeks ago what my plans were for the day. I answered her in self pity and said, "same thing as everyday, I'm listening to my ears ring".

The last hair cut I had I told the haircutterer girl to leave the hair slightly over my ears to hide my ear maskers. I told her about my T. She said she had a girlfriend with T and her girlfriend believed her T tuned her into aileen frequencies. I'm not kidding.

I think the moral of this story is perception. My self pity is as abstract as aileen frequencies. The aileen frequency girl probaby deals with her T better than Mr. Self-Pity. My T is really just a noise even if sometimes it seems to be from the 3rd or 4th circle of hell.

I know that the longer I have T, even as severe as it may be, I'm learning that it's not killing me and the more I hear it, the less threatening it is to me. After the first 3 or 4 months of severe T I never thought I could sincerely say this. After a year of constantly hearing white noise (ear maskers), I thought I could never go without that white noise. This past Thursday I had the maskers off all day. Today, Saturday, I had them at very low volume.

I never belived habitation was possible with severe T, and maybe complete habitation is not, but after 16 months with the big T, I'm writng to those with new T. The Martians are coming and a few of us know they're already here and working at Walmart and Taco Bell and Toll Booths. Please keep this a secret for now. You are okay and you will get by.
