Yesterday, I had one of the best days since my t began on 10/21/2012. It was quiet all day and all I could hear was the masking program playing in my hearing aids. I went to bed and went to sleep without the hearing aids playing the static sound in the background which is how I usually go to sleep. I woke up about 4 times during the night and could tell the silence was short lived, each time I woke up the ringing was a little louder. My left ear was blaring when I got up and I immediately put in my masking hearing aids. Now all is well again. I am trying to lose more weight with just 10 more pounds to go, and I am trying to lower my glucose level. I have gotten off my diabetes medication, Metformin, and am sleeping better. I think Metformin was causing insomnia and I was getting where I could not fall asleep. I would hope this is the year for a cure or treatment to make t toleralble for everyone with this affliction. I think diabetics probably have tinnitus more than the general population, but I could be wrong. I seem to do better with exercise and lower glucose levels.
