Hi Bebee the poster does not state how much in Mili Grams per capsule he or she is taking ? .. maybe you could find out for us ? .. ive been taking 1000 mg per day for years now and has never helped my tinntus
the dosage is very important .. this poster may only be taking 250 MG which is why they can take 8 capsules ..per day,.... i hate to think what would happen if i took 8000 mg of the stuff .. but intresting thanks ..

It says Cod liver oil not fish oil

Well a cod is a fish Rozia.. at least the last time i looked it was ..Micky

Cod liver is the source of Vitamin A....too much is harmful to the liver. However fish oil is omega 3.( DHA & EPA) The smallest therapeutic dose is 3,000mgs a day. I have clients who take up to 12 a day when their conditions are in an acute stage, then drop back to 3,000mgs.

I take 2 fish oil per day that are 1000 mg. each. My doctor said it is good for inflammation and cholesterol. The important component is the DHA and EPA and the amount of it in the capsule which I think my doctor said should be 750 mg (I think its mg, I dont have the bottle in front of me). Ive never had it work for tinnitus and cod liver oil is not the same as fish oil. Fish oil has Omega 3's. Best Wishes, Judy

Thanks Lesley and Judy ..for the info , Lesley what condition would warrant 12,000 mg's of fish oil in one day ? , and what do you mean by the smallest theraputic dose being 3000 mg's .. does that mean any thing less than 3000 mg's does not have a theraputic affect or in fact any affect ? .. .. im genuinly intrested ..

Several years ago there was this guy who was being interviewed on the radio(several times) and he went by the name "The Cod Father". He swore by the stuff it could really improve your health.

I have been taking COD Liver oil for about 6 months now and find no difference. No improved tinnitus, no improved health. All these claims are totally unsubstanciated garbage.

The guy now states his T is back,, he got 1 1/2 days of no T...

My mother used to give us Cod Liver Oil when we went into the apple orchard in spring and ate too many green apples. It would really make me sick. The stuff is horrible! I can't stand the smell of it. I think I'd gag if I had to take it. I almost gag just thinking about it. :)

HAHHAHHA great topic.. my girlfriend thought i should try it but we tried kissing and could NOT for the rest of the day because of the smell of the fish oil on our breath.... yeeech...

The ENT surgeon I talked to in Australia, told me to stay away from fish oil, if I am not mistaken.

May I ask what the reason was Bob?
