One more thing Sue, car horns, loud trucks and loud high pitched noises still bother me, I still go out stuffing my ears with cotton balls if the traffic is bad -) I still wear ear plugs on loud restaurants or bars, but I don't wear them when I work..all my co workers still don't know I have T.-)

What you said about the noise of the road bothering you, sounds much like me. I do wear an ear plug in my bad ear when I am in the car. I was diagnosed with what is called Reactive T. Most people are masked by noise, mine gets louder with noise.
I was tested for this by the Oregon State University, the Tinnitus Clinic there. They claim it is rare.

Hi to all. I also have tinnitus. I got it last May 2014. I suspect i got this from the meds given to me by a dentist in Qatar. My first time to work abroad for greener pasture, for family. I went there for one reason only, to provide for my wife and children. I can say that I was well adjusted there and was happy sending money to my family. But on the 4th Month, Boom!, a high pitch noise in my head. I ignored it for a day, i thought that it would just go away, but sadly it didn't happen. I panicked, got anxiety, depressed, confused, suicidal and not sleeping. Stayed for a month, I didn't want to quit my job and go home, not like this, i said to myself. I was becoming more depressed and had more panic attacks. But it was very difficult. I had to quit and go home. I went to a physician here and put me on Xanor and Zoloft. Somehow it help me with sleeping and anxiety but i didn't want to stay on meds so I quit taking it after 2 months. Anyway, my life has become very hard. I'm still depressed, irritable. Couldn't accept what happened to me. But I am hopeful and praying everyday. I will trust God through Jesus Christ for healing and deliverance.

@med...what i did is...instead of praying for my T to go away, i prayed for strength instead to be able to habituate to the T faster...

Ian, Pilipina ako. Been suffering esince 2010. Stopped working as T has gone worse.
May sensorineurial hearing loss ako,,, at semi-circular dehiscence, and TMJ. Lalong lumala after ipagalaw ko ang TMJ ko.
Kung Makita mo ang hirap ko mas masuwerte ka.
Dito ka ba sa Pinas?
