I read the same articles. The technology has already been used on Parkinson's by neurologists and now they are trying it on severe depression - apparently the technology is taking off - to see an article showing how it all works, here is another link:

I use an AlphaStim and it's electrical effects, while not identical, are similar and have helped with depression, anxiety, and some with the Tinnitus.

Thanks for the link, John. Here again, electrical seems to be the theme.

We have sound suppression, sound therapies, ways of encouraging the brain to "tune it out". We have anti depressants, supplements, and so forth but non seem to have the teeth that electrical therapies have in introducing immediate, significant effects.

I think we'll see a host of new therapies in the next decade, who knows whats going to fly and whats going to flop but I still feel in my gut it's going to be electrical.

Hey, BTW, what are we going to call the new decade. Is it the 2010s? or would you say the teens or.... anyway. I feel like Buzz Lightyear.. To infinity and beyond!

It's unfortunate that the company that manufactured the cortical device used in this study has gone bankrupt. Hopefully, the science behind this approach will continue and progress will be made.
