Hi all, I'm new to this group also with tinnitus, im 29 so I feel so young to have it though probably not the only one. Not quite sure what it's caused it at this stage, but I'm a hay fever sufferer and it affects all my sinuses. I also get vertigo from time to time, been to the doctor and I may have labyrinthitus in my right ear. I am waiting to see the audiologist about my hearing, not quite sure if I'm excited or not about what they may say. The tinnitus is probably more prominent in my right ear, though it's hard to tell as it sounds the same in both of my ears. So frustrating that it just can't go away.

Hmmm interesting harvestking. Thanks for your thoughts, I try to keep my sodium levels down as much as I can, but I should try to increase my dairy intake etc.

hi all, I am seeing the Audiologist next week, I finally got the appointment. I am learning to ignore the tinnitus and in that case I basically hear it, maybe only slightly. it is only when it is dark and there are no sounds on that I hear it unless im super tired and I just fall asleep. It hasn't been stopping me from falling asleep lately, long may that continue. My Husband still thinks it is to do with my allergies and the doctor gave me a script for nasal spray a while back for allergies but since it was making my nose bleed I have had to stop and just go back to taking my antihistamine tablets.

That's GREAT news! I still can't ignore mine and it'll be 5 years in February so good for you!! Good luck at the audiologists but don't expect too much from them.....I think that you have gotten this far this soon is a very good sign.

Hi Amack, I am glad to hear you are doing better with ignoring your tinnitus. You mention that you hear it at night when it is quiet. There are many kinds of noise makers you can get to put on your bedside table that might be helpful. I play the sound of rain all the time. It used to drown out my tinnitus but as the tinnitus has gotten louder it can no longer do that completely. However, it does help a lot and if I forget to turn it on, my husband has gotten so used to it that he will remind me!

Hi all, last time I mentioned I had an audiologist appointment coming up. I went to it and my hearing hasn't been affected by the tinnitus, still in normal range, which in a way is good news, the annoying thing is I still have to live with the tinnitus but as long as it doesn't get worse fingers crossed then I will deal with it for now.

Thanks for updating us on your appointment! Glad your hearing is OK. I, too, hope your T doesn't get any worse. That's always a worry for all of us. :(
