I do get out, as much as I possibly can. A couple of girlfriends include me in a lot of stuff that they do. They want me to go to the "Burning Man" event. NO! not for me! But I am going to hear my buddy play Bass at the Baked Potato next Monday night!
Well I did go to the Dr yesterday. Nice guy, reminds me of "Gary" on "Alphas" if anyone watches that show. Checked a lot of stuff, said he wants a bunch of lab tests on the usual stuff before he starts prescribing anything... He says, one thing at a time. I got bit by a spider of some kind about a year ago, and there is still a bad mark from that on my shoulder, he's more interested in that. I was probably a Pit Viper or a Brown Recluse, or possibly an Alien abduction that went wrong.... Oh wait, that's another support board!!!

I read your post and ya, I am new here. Had T for about 12 years.
That said very often I think I could walk in front of that bus and end this irreverent noise in my head., Why can't T, play classical music in my head instead of this damn ringing Ive thought. I joined this forum to read about ppl like me, just like when I joined AA its easier if you know you are not alone in it.

Well, I'm back, my computer crashed big time, kind of like me and every thing I own, but I got a brand new laptop from Dell, and now I'm dangerous! Just kidding. Got my 1st total physical a couple of days ago, my blood tests yesterday, I'll find out what they think soon. Then they will start on my T problem. Or so they say.... We'll see.

Yes, the noise is tinnitus. But you can't hear people not because of the noise directly, rather than you have some sort of hearing loss. It's probably getting louder because you lost some hearing and the everyday sounds are having a hard time "masking" it now.

There are many people with tinnitus and normal hearing. Likewise I think at least half of people with hearing loss don't have tinnitus.

Mike I am new at this, just over a month,and want to wish you all the best.. I am struggling mightily, but find hope from the "long timers" that are leading at least fairly happy lives... You said you were Christian.. Use this ordeal to get closer, not further away from the Lord,,, That would be His will...

Like you, I am a life long musician.. Guitar and pedal steel.. made my living with it for a LONG time.. When i wasn't doing that, I was 30 years in auto shops using LOUD impact wrenches,LOUD air hammers, screeching grinders, and listening to tires exploding day after day, year after year, decade after decade... So yeah tinnitus,,,
Unlike you, I am done with music.. I can't even look at the lovely guitars and amps i own.. I feel they have cursed me... weird right??..
I will sing in church with my wife and my acoustic, and thats it...
Anyway, my brother in Christ, and brother in music, I wish you well as we both search for what works best for us... I pray for all the members here on a daily basis.. You included...

I am getting a massage tonight from a sweet gentle Christian woman from my church thats a professional masusse [sp?]. She wants to see if it helps me relax.. I'll let everyone know... btw, Mike, I too won't consider suicide, but as others have stated, I have cried out to God to take me home... He's not ready for me yet, and I bet He's not ready for you yet either... Hang in there brother.. I wish you quieter, peaceful days, and sleep filled nights.. Same for us all... bob
