This is what scares the hell out of me because mine has gotten worse.
So good to hear from you again.
Sue
it is really bad. I don't have any intentions of accepting
this horror or giving up finding something that works
against it. I can't. If I give up and accept I had might as
well shoot myself. Fighting this thing is the only thing
that keeps me going. Maybe I am doing wrong by not
accepting but I just can't.
JB, totally understand.
my Widex hearing aids and the MP3 together at the same
time. I have rediscovered my Soundcure device. I go for a
ride and play it. It knocks the edge off for a little while. I also
just use the Widex with the damn bells alone. But I mainly
use the MP3 player.
To sleep I take:
40mg of Melatonin
500mg pain reliever
600 mg of Quetiapine (Seroquel)
12.5mg of Zolpidem
and sometimes 1mg of Lorazepam
My T builds through the day until nothing really works.
If it were not for my family I would end all of this.
So once you are thru with the suicidal stage and how found ways to deal on a day to day basis, you are pretty much in the severe zone.
Good news! :-)

Well Dan, when I take the THI it still indicates "catastrophic".. That hasn't changed.. I take it every few months.. However, the scores are not as high.. I used to be in the high 90's, now, I am in the high 70's.. My T is always heard, and does negatively affect my life daily. It affects everything I do.
. Its just that I can muddle though each day a little better than I did earlier.. So yeah, I will accept your definition... Either way, it hasn't gotten any better.. I am just not as badly or as easily distressed by it these days...bob
In late 2005 my tinnitus actually got better to the point where mornings were good and didn't need to mask at all. I was actually living pretty good even though I had tinnitus, it was at such a level it was not a big deal.
Then August of 2009 came and all hell broke loose. Now it's masking almost 24/7 and every part of my life is controlled by the tinnitus.
Fact is people that don't have it as bad as us will never understand what we go through.
