Hi all. I just had my vocal chord plumped so I could talk again. I had bi-lateral vocal chord paralysis after my thyroid surgery on Jan 9th. Boy this procedure sure hurt. I had a scope down my throat and then my doctor injected the paralyzed vocal chord. The first time it didn't work because the needle was too big. He then went to a smaller needle but it still hurt even though I was numb. I still cannot talk because it takes a while for the vocal chord to wake up since it has been paralyzed for so long. The side of my neck and ear hurts so bad now that the numbing medicine is wearing off. I just took a pain pill so hopefully that will work soon. I know I will be hitting the bed very soon. I had to get doped up a little before the procedure because I am such a baby when it comes to needles. My 11 yr old son said that he has to do my talking for me again. :) He is such a sweet boy along with my husband. They sure take care of me.
