I was terrified when my ENT said I needed a Full TT. I had it in April 09 and RAI in May 09. I still have low calcium but other than that I am fine.
You will find some people on here who are like me and some who regret having the surgery.
I always recommended going to www.ThyCa.org. I think it is a great site and they offer a great book for Thyroid Cancer Survivors.
Just remember no one that I know of (myself included) on here is a doctor. Ask a bunch of questions but don't let us tell you what you should do.
I sent you a message. I hope some of it can help.
Listen to your docs! I send you best wishes.
Before this year, I was never sick, but things changed quickly when I began the year with walking pnemonia in January.
This has been a tough year for me - hystorectomy in March, became anemic, diagnosed with blood clots in my leg (DVT), in May, migraines developed - back to hospital with concern of bleeding in brain, (was negative),bought of poison ivy, pain in upper back - back to hospital with possible lung clot, (turned out to be pulled muscle, which is what I told the doctor in the beginning), found mass on thyroid through CT scan, then ENT found severe TMJ when examining the mass. What's next?!?
I guess I've made up for lost time this year, hopefully I have paid my dues for years to come!
I am ready for this year to be over!!
Sorry to rant - thanks!
