This applies primarily to those of you who walk on those lonely country roads.

If you happen to come across a hornets nest in your travels, they are worth a minimum of $10 on ebay, especially if they are a pretty good size!

They will be close to the ground in this part of the country indicating a mild winter.

haha ! Joyce if it's a huge one, it's probably worth some $$$! One just sold on there for $56. Double the size of the one I listed. No bids yet but there is some interest. I bet someone will buy it for a Christmas present lol.

This time of year in the north, the bees are hibernating so if there are any in it, I probably won't see them until next spring! Needless to say, I left the nest in my shed where it is unheated.

I use to feel pretty good if I found a couple liquer bottles in my travels but with the bees nest, I bet I walked by it hundreds of times and one day while we were browsing a collectible shop, we see a similar nest hanging on the wall with a price tag on it. First thing I did when I got home was search Ebay and to my surprise, they sell like hot cakes! Needless to say, I grabbed that free bees nest on that old dirt road which was a portion of one of my walking routes and immediately listed it.

4 hours left and I have a bid!!!! YAY!

Walking has fringe benefits lol!

I still am very wary about gathering a bees nest that may just contain bees! I have visions on the buyer opening the shipping box and bees are flying all over the house!

i too am a country walker, treadmill in the winter, and observe lots of bugs n such....the bee thing sounds really cool but alas i am scared of bees...just cant stand still around em, gotta run..lol No bees nest for me :(

Luckily the nest was empty. There may have been some eggs left behind but I didn't want to alter it in any way, lest lower the value.

It went to Oklahoma and he hasn't left me a feedback yet so I hope he was happy with it. Maybe the warm weather down there thawed out some bees and they attcked him when he opened the box. God forbid, I hope not!

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
