For those of you who live in the northeast! How do I know this?
The bees are building their nests on the ground so that definitely means a mild winter. I am still waiting to hear from the squirrels for confirmation. If they hide their acorns and apples, under my shed, that means a mild winter, if they put them high in the trees, between the branches, that means better spend the winter down south!
I have known about this unique type of forcasting the weather for many years and it has never failed! Nature's way of keeping the species going, I guess!

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
We have squirrels all over the place...so many more than in the past. I have to observe what and where they are buying their peanuts, etc.
Hoping it's not like last winter........maybe our local highway agencies need to take notice of this and start preparing for the snow.............we don't get heavy snow very often, and when we do they are never prepared for it..........oh well....
Kahlua, I use to have to occasionally wipe the snow off my Hughesnet dish just so I could use the internet, sometimes it was many times during a long storm with wet sticky snow!
Also, Angie, see if the wooly catepiller has a thin or thick strip around their brown body. The thinner it is, the milder the winter. We saw one the other day that had no stripe!! That made us pretty happy!

Not sure what is happening here as I have not seen squirrels hiding anything, bees nesting, or any wooly worms. One thing I do know is winter will be too long!
