barely slept and about to go meet with the manager to begin my lease renewal which i totally dread. she's a nutcase, so i never really know what to expect. starting to get nervous. just want to get through that and come back for a nap. i'll see what else i can manage today after that.

Hi hens, i just need to get this out and be really selfish and tell you guys what is happening aside from me feeling a little depressed of late. Its been a situation where every time ive logged on, ive got all tearful and i'm not sure why?

my tummy is in knots at the moment, we thought my dad was coming home from hospital today, but found out he's not now!

to explain....

The other day (sunday evening) my 84 year old dad says all upset "could you look at this and tell what you think" We was standing outside the bathroom at the time, (dont read if you dont want to it gets graphic), i looked in the toilet and there was just blood splattered everywhere all over the bowl, it was bright red. I said that it was not right and that he needed to go to hospital and i wanted to call an ambulance. I felt it was an emergency however he did not, you know what old pple are like, so he had me call out of hours doctor, this is called EM doc here. They rang back and said he needed to be seen, we went, we saw and we got sent home! However... on the way home he passes out in the back of the cab and bled on the back seat. Got back to the hospital (EM doc is there) and i went screaming into A and E for help, they took my dad and mum and i was left outside with a grumpy cab driver who had to ring his office, as he could not work anymore that night, the cab had to be cleaned and now he wouldn't be able to take his son to school in the morning.
He got off the phone after a lot of moaning and said i had to pay 50 pounds for the cleaning and 6 pounds for the journey. I did not have 56 pounds in cash on me! I asked if i could pay by debit card he said no, so i said you will have to take me to a cash machine then! All this time bear in mind my dad is in the hospital with my mum and i have no idea what the hell is happening!
Luckily the cash machine was not that far, i paid the cab driver and told him i would walk back! I had had enough of that cab driver and i wanted to be as far away from him.
This all happened sunday night. This morning i got a call from dad saying he can come home, this afternoon at 2pm mum had me ring to find out what time he can come home. He said he now couldn't as he's got to have surgery this afternoon but didnt know what for or anything, he couldnt understand what the nurse was saying, he was all upset.
I dont mean any offense by this, but to honest i rang the ward to find out what the heck is going on and i couldnt understand either if it was the same nurse, after alot of "I'm sorry, can you repeat that" It turns out he's having a camera put down his throat, they cant do the camera in the rectum yet as things need to settle.
They have said its diverticulitis, i'm sure some of have heard of this, but obviously really worried they find anything else with the camera investigation.

So this is where i'm at, sitting with mum and waiting for news, waiting to find out whether we can visit later.

Oh honey you must be worried sick! I sure hope it's something easy to fix. Please keep us informed as to how he is. Sorry this is happening and so glad you shared with us....you certainly did need to vent. I'll be anxiously waiting with you and your mom. Big hugs

Musk I was happy to come on and see you had started us off. Wishing you the very best outcome with the eye specialist. My husband has a condition behind his eye and sees a Retina Specialist to keep up to date on it. So far no changes. It is certainly something for concern. Good your eye doctor caught it.

Dix good to hear status quo on the chicks. Don't know about you but it is going to be hot one here.

Serenity good luck with lease renewal. I know you will be happy to get it over with. Aside from nutty manager, fire alarms, and constant inspections it sounds like a nice place. I know you have good views from your pictures. Also to be on the bus line and have shops near you is a real plus.

Empathy I am so sorry to hear what you had to go through the other night. Also poor dad.
The scope/camera should give the doctor some information to treat him. I know the knot in stomach
feeling and experience such often. Sending out some positive vibes to you and Dad.

I notice I have started posts and then not sent or they didn't send. Silly me. I think my problem is that I receive text messages on my iPad and it notifies me......I go to the text and forget to come back to my message.
Will be watching that in future.

VENT
We had a strange noise with our A/C unit outside and called for service. They came today. The tech thinks our compressor is going out. The kicker is that our 14 year old Trane uses a freon that is going to be taken off the market. The price for the freon is 4 times what is was a few years ago. This has to do with the environment.
Then I learn that the new units have aluminum instead of copper. Supposed to be more efficient. I think just cheaper. Poor tech, he sure heard a mouthful from me. A new compressor is what we will do if it goes out.
Just hope it doesn't this summer.

Our foster dog had her neutering yesterday. Poor girl is a little puny today. She finally ate but wouldn't drink water. She is staying inside all day today and probably tomorrow. Too hot. She had beautiful green nails when we picked her up. They paint their nails while they are out for the surgery. I am getting my very own foster this week. She is a shih tuz / Lhasa mix. Her name is Bacca. Our current foster Windy will transport on the Orphan bus on Thursday. We will have four dogs for a week.

Ouch Hippy on the AC unit. Those darn things can be so expensive. My tech told me that most of the time when something goes wrong....things start going wrong...you are better off just replacing the whole init because it costs so much to repair them. I don't know if that is the case for you or not. How old is your unit? Hope it lasts through the summer for you. You just might get attached to the little dog....being able to hold her in your lap:) be careful not to get your heart broken. Hugs

empathy, so sorry that you and your family have to deal with so much. i would have punched that cabbie under the circumstances, so kudos for your self control. take of yourself. in my prayers, dear.

hippy, thanks for the good wishes. i guess it went ok. i do like my little home (despite the annoyances). i have to get penny to the vet to update her shots for that paperwork. no easy thing since you can't take pets on the bus here. shoot and rats on the AC. congrats on a new foster. exciting!
