Morning Hens,
It's only 27 degrees here this morning... Brrrrr!
I'm taking down the beautiful tree I got from my mom.. It's a monster! It's 7 ft. And so heavy!! It's also a pre-lit tree but the bottom section doesn't light up so it needs to be re strung. I've wrestled with this thing for two days already and never did get it completely set up. I just don't have the strength or energy for it.. Now I will spend most of the day trying to take it down.
I want a little table top tree... All I have the energy for.
Going to try to stay in and stay warm today.
What's on your agenda?

88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

i woke up today at 4:30 freezing and achy, but after a few hours on the heating pad i feel like i can move a bit. i have the ingredients out for chili, so i hope i can get that going, wow, i don't know what else. hopefully my body will figure it out.
I love a Christmas tree and lights, i couldn't care less about the other decorations as long as i had a tree and lights!
Ive done Christmas shopping this morning and ive even done some wrapping! I cant believe how sorted i am this year! I only have my parents gifts to get and i'm done! Then i can sit back and watch everyone else run around like headless chickens.
4 :00pm and its dark already, no wonder we get depressed in the winter.
Cold here 23 degrees, but to warm up as a new storm comes in.
Off to Target for a few things and a new vacuum. Son need mine, so I just give it to him! Hmm something wrong with me.
then Cost-co, dog food and they have the best wreaths that smell like the forest!
I'll come home and get on the bike for a bit then bundle in.
I put up our tree last night and it went up just like that. Thank you Oprah, she recommended this brand!
sorry for your hassle Dixe!
I agree empathy, now that the tree is up with lights, it looks just fine to me. why clutter it up with decorations.
sorry for the achy feelings seren, heat is good and that is on my target list. I use those pads that stick to you. NO smell and nice portable heat!
hugs and good day to all

I went back to PT this morning. I had given up on it, thinking I wasn't improving. After about 3 weeks without it, I'm so much worse that I've decided if all it does is prevent that...it's doing something! It was so hard to get there by 8:00. I spent 5 hours trying to get myself working well enough to attempt it. Yes, you read that right. I got up at 3:00 and it took 2 doses of meds, a hot shower and a lot of shuffling around. Then I had to warm my car since it was 15 degrees this morning.
I switched to a tabletop Christmas tree 3 years ago and I haven't looked back! If I had one on the floor, I imagine my 'boys' would use it for a pissing match!
I have just one haircut to do today and then I'm going to put a potroast on to cook. My parents are coming for dinner...something I haven't dared try for a long time. I made the mistake of telling Mom I'd like to do that sometime and she's mentioned it every day since last week. So...I made the decision this morning.
I'm going to make an apple crisp, too...groan....peep
I read all of your agendas and I am down on all fours, and I'm hoping I could just manage to have a shower.
Janie I have a few cedar trees and holly bushes so I make y own wreaths. I love the the smell of a fresh tree.
How kind of you to give son your vacuum cleaner. I thought I was the only one who replaced things because of sons. Mine are older though and should be getting their own.
Empathy I read yesterday's report from you with your heart. Very good news. I agree a tree with lights is beautiful. I am bookmarking your recipe site for the pastry and sausage. There are some good recipes on that site.
Angela the flu sounds awful. Good that you are taking the entire day to recover. Hope it works and you are back on your game tomorrow.
Cherry you always make me smile. Thinking about Ricky and you other dog peeing on a tree.
Somewhere I read about a cat owner coming home and finding her tree totally bare. All her ornaments were under the tree. Guess the cats had fun!
Serenity your tree decorating tradition in NY sounds like lots of fun. When I was younger we never put our tree up until the weekend of my birthday in December. My mom always made fudge and we had our own little party. With 5 brothers and sisters we had the tree decorated in no time. For me it seems Christmas season just starts too early. I heard Christmas music in a store this year two days before Halloween.
This past weekend my ten year old Saturn Vue died. I think 10 years is the longest I have gone with a new car we usually trade in at 4 years. On Monday I drove home a new GMC Terrain. I loved my Vue but Saturn went out of business several years ago so no new parts. Not the Christmas gift we had in mind.
My husband was rear ended a week ago so his truck is at the body shop.
So I am getting anxious and waiting for "what next". One of the arms on my most favorite eyeglasses broke about 7 months ago. I was able to fix it with super glue. Well, yesterday the same happened. While repairing it last night I laid my glasses down on the little drop of glue and got the glue on one side of the lens.
My husband went to three stores to find super glue remover. Do they sell it anymore? Finally the guy in home improvement dept. at Walmart told him acetone nail polish remover. So remember this if you have a run in with super glue. I have this ongoing thing with super glue. On more than one occasion I have glued my fingers together. Once I glued a rear view mirror to my hand.
Love y'all
