Morning Hens,
You know the only good thing about teenagers....they sleep late in the mornings....and I get to keep the mornings quiet and to myself longer lol. Littlebit has had me up since 6:00 this morning....little stinker. I layed in bed though til 7:00. On my first cup of coffee....be glad when it's warm enough to drink it outside on the porch swing.
Empathy how are your allergies today? Hope not bad.
Serenity did you over do it yesterday? Just making the bed alone can do it to me sometimes.
Hippy did you enjoy your quiet time?:) I know I always do:)
I've called my medicine in already...have to go pick that up today unfortunately. Going to call around about one of them and see if I can get it cheaper.
Son's girlfriend is coming over today. I read him the riot act! No doors shut. No going up to the barn, no walks down the railroad track! He has to stay in open view! Wish the heck they would break up!!!
Time to watch some depression.......the news.
Hugs to all

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

How old is your son with the girlfriend? The legal age here is 16, i know its a lot older in some states there.
16 seems way too young, i was 16 when i lost my virginity and looking back i was incredibly naive, tho i have to say it was with the right boy because we are still together today over 30 years later!
My son is 20 and his girlfriend is 19 almost, but she was only 16 when he started bringing her home. I did worry so much about her getting pregnant, thankfully they both seem sensible, she has an implant and i know they use other protection too. Her dad even rang me up and we had a chat, i respected him for that taking care of his daughter in that way.
allergies under control. Ive been painting doors, ive done 5! Still a lot to do but there's no rush.
Found this poem i thought i would put it in the card to go with the flowers for the funeral.
Do not read if you think it will upset.
The Final Flight
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the end of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved one' touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, he set me free.

dixie, i have to say in some ways i'm so glad i wasn't able to have kids. i love them, but never a moment's rest! i hope he uses reason over hormones. and yes, i overdid it! i thought of you this morning when penny was mewing in my ear which is rare for her. i let her under the covers and slept on.
empathy, you inspire me with all you do! i love that poem. i'm going to copy and share. any idea of the author?
yesterday was nice, but a little too much on 4 hours sleep. still low pain makes me want to keep going. had a nice afternoon walk with my neighbor before the temp dropped 30 degrees! the winds are whipping around like crazy today. i woke up with a pretty sore throat and not too much motivation so i'll do what i can today. i'd like to make a good pasta sauce from the roasted veggie soup i have leftover. i think my mother wants me to spend one night over there this week so i'd like to have things here under control.
dear hens, hope your day goes well whatever it holds!
Kim....my oldest Son gave this advice to his younger brothers. 15 will get you 20! I'm glad those days of worrying are over....well, at least about that!
Empathy...beautiful poem!
Today is Cindi's birthday so I'm sending her wishes for a great day. I'm so out of touch with everyone.
I went back to PT to have my shoulder reevaluated last week and he found that the pain isn't because of my shoulder! I've developed a new Scoliosis in my cervical spine and the lower part of it is stuck. No wonder I can barely turn my head. The muscles down that side of my back are all knots and spasms. Ouch! I dread going back on Friday. My pain has shot way up from the two times he's worked on mobilizing my neck. It feels like I've taken a big step back.
Oh well...it was -12 yesterday morning and -9 today. Being cold probably isn't helping my overall pain level. I'd like to sit on the porch and have coffee with all the hens!
Hugs and clucks!
Coffee sounds good cherry, any cake to go with that? : )
