Morning Hens,
Suppose to get to 73 today....unfortunately I will be spending the day at the hospital. My MIL is having a knee replacement done today. I'm already feeling panicky about going. I'm afraid the pain will hit me really hard while I'm there. It's been doing that lately and hitting so hard it knocks me off my feet. I would be so embarrassed to have someone there see me in so much pain.
Hope you all have a good day.
Hugs and love

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

Kim...I'm afraid all your worrying will make it happen! Bring something along to do for a distraction. Do you have a crocheting project that's small enough to pack? A good book? Snacks? It seems you're always at the hospital or doctor's for the older women in your family. They are lucky to have you...hope they know it!
I'm off to a rough start, but with enough doses of medication and time for my patch to start kicking in, I'm going to work this afternoon. I had to switch one morning client to later in the day, in hopes that my plan works. I really messed up my bad shoulder yesterday and I hope it doesn't take too long to get back to where it was...tolerable.
It's frosty again this morning, but at least the sun is shining. I hope the sun shines on all of you today.
Hugs and clucks...
Kim, I'm with Cherry, distraction would be good. And drink plenty of water to help those muscles and fascia stay loose and flexible. I am very happy with our weather right now. I so enjoy having the windows open.
Cherry be sure to pace yourself with that arm. Lots of water too!
Several of you have asked about my session yesterday. It went great as usual. I have it done every week right now. She did work me hard though, so I have to be gentle with myself for today.
I have found it to be the best treatment for my fibro. The prevailing scientific and medical thought, unlike the lyrica commercial which claims it is over acting nerves(oh please), is that in fibro your muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and connective tissue loose there flexibility and can even harden and calcify over time causing huge and disproportionate as well as radiating pain.
This can be caused by a wide variety of factors. The main two I discovered in my life was a lifelong diet of processed foods with no good ones and years of medication. Both of which took their toll on my body but particularly my soft tissues. It caused my muscles to retain toxins and crap and they became trapped. I was doing nothing to stop it, but instead making it worse.
The types of massage I get help release and flush all that gunk out. My healthier diet and little or no meds help to keep more toxins from building up. Lots and lots of water everyday continue this flushing as well as helping to keep the fascia and muscles hydrated so they can stay loose and flexible thus having less pain.
We are down to the rib cage area. We have systematically worked every other area of my body into submission. I saved dealing with the costo chondritis until last because the work on the intercostals are the hardest for me to take. It's time though.
She has worked the last few weeks on preparing me. We've done the cupping with stronger pressure each time. This has helped to loosen the connective tissue. Now it is time to get down to the nitty gritty and for her to dig in and get below that and in between each rib. When she is in there I have to actively remember to breathe. But she knows my limits and I know she won't go to far. I also know that after a day or so I will feel such relief and have more pain free time.
This area is really important to me as it is usually the costo chondritis pain that drives me out of bed early. Just with the cupping I am already sleeping an hour longer. The rest of my problem areas are in good shape with the work we have done, and she has taught me home self care to keep it that way so that now we can concentrate on my rib area. We will work a few weeks on this. Then I should be able to cut my visits down to every two weeks and then eventually down to once a month, as long as I keep up with my home self care.
I love massage therapy! Between the myofascial release and the trigger points, I feel better than I have in years. I realize that it is a combination of ALL the healthy changes I have made, but I really feel this has had the largest impact in me getting my life back.
Today I just have to finish the paper work up. I got all my windows cleaned yesterday! Ok, ok, it was used as a tactic to avoid the paper work, but at least I was productive!
Hope everyone has a good day.
Sending hugs, love, and comfort.

Cherry's right, try and distract your self and you won't have the worry about pain.
Hope you rough start smooths out cherry. You've been through more then I could take.
Hubby home to new home today. Off to pottery barn for som much neded shelves ans such.
I figure if I crowd this place he do the addition faster! I want it done by fall.
Pretty spring day here and so far my hard worked joints are ok. No more heavy lifting.
Good day to all.
cherry's got a point, ive worried so much about having a panic attack, ive bought one on!
I wouldn't
think anyone would think anything about seeing someone in so much pain at a hospital, its expected. Strangers wont know why your there and family love and know you.
The weather is amazing here, its like summer! I am sitting in the garden on my swing seat with sons laptop on my lap enjoying the moment! Even the fish in the pond seem to be enjoying the heat of the sun. Its hard to think that friday they think the temp will drop 10 degrees, so back to coldness by weekend : (
There's a cake in the oven, thats almost ready, its coffee and cinnamon, i just had a craving for it.
((((take care)))

My husband has been through the mill the last couple of years. He had prostrate cancer this year and back surgery. He retired three years ago, and he has had do many issues,I cannot even begin.
Tomorrow he goes in for a colonoscopy as he may be experiencing some side affects from radiation. Tonight he starts the awful prep and I feel so sorry for him.
I am going to spend the day working in my yard. This is my distraction. I have learned that distraction is the best way to handle very loud tinnitus and for many other things, even worrying.
I pray you all find some relief today, my heart is with you all.
Janie please have some much needed fun.
Hugs and love,
Sandy
sandy, sorry to hear about your husband's trials.
emapthy, sounds like a lovely way to spend the day.
janie, hope you have fun at pottery barn.
i have to do some work in the kitchen, but i was up early with pain and pushed myself last night. just can't let pain rule all the time. i want to start my potted garden, too.
hope all have the best day possible.
Something is going on and I am not sure what. Just new and seems to be muscle related.
Dix stay strong. Hope you have found a book to read. An open book is best protection in a waiting area. No one talks to you.
Janie have fun with Pottery Barn. Love your motive to get husband on the remodel.
Sandy I understand what you have been going through. My dear husband had some big stuff well before I had my accident. It is a lot to watch you husband suffer and then it also takes it toll on him and changes him.
Empathy your new AVI. The cake and sunshine in the garden sounds perfect.
Cherry good to hear you at least have sunshine. Good luck with your day.
Tonna I have looked for the Myo Release in my area and it is hard to find. When I travel and have had a massage the really good ones recommend this. So nice to hear more about it and how it is helping you.
love and peace
