Sorry to hear about the family dramatics Dixie. I know only to well how that is upsetting and stressful. I hope you feel better today.

Weather here is cold also. 15 this morning and I was out there at 5am putting wood in the outdoor wood burner. It really was pleasant though in the dark, quiet and the snow falling. Puppy was enjoying it for sure.

I started watching a movie Flight w/Denzel Washington last night on Amazon Prime but starting falling to sleep so I will finish it today.

oh dixie, family disharmony is stressful. i hope that can work itself out. good for you making her wait. i had to do that with penny. our sleep is so valuable. no problem with taking a day off when your body demands it. i have a hard time accepting that myself.

the temps dropped here considerably last night and i had the windows open. i agree, i pushed to get out yesterday to buy a few staples, so i can hibernate. glad you don't have to get out either. sure wish i could bring my afghan and have a nice cup of coffee with you and some more hens!

seren, i stopped opening my windows at night a while ago, it got way too cold for me. hope you find something creative to do, if not.. then something practical like i seem to end up doing.

Ive been out this morning and guess what i found? !! A measuring cup with American cup sizes! Remember i was asking about American cup size..
Lol it seems that even the American pint is different to the English pint according to this measuring jug. So at long last i can try out some American recipes on pinterest. : )

tonight i'm going out with work colleagues for our Christmas meal, ive painted my nails an my outfit is sorted, just killing time until its time to get ready.

Oh yeah , you know i had earache, ive gone a bit deaf in one ear, its like ive got cotton wool stuffed in there, its so annoying! Doctor gave me a nasel spray, apparently its the quickest way to reach the middle ear where ive got catarrh left over from a cold i had 3 weeks ago!

I can't talk myself into going out in this miserable cold. I need to put gas in my car and do a little shopping, but haven't convinced myself that it's really necessary, yet. I've done 2 loads of laundry, started and tended a wood fire, made muffins...I also have an 18 pound turkey in my oven with the help of my sister.

I have a new tenant lined up to occupy my apartment next week! The woman in charge of Section 8 Housing came through for me! What a relief it will be to have that income again!

I'm imagining us all sitting around with our blankets and coffee...love you hens!

Put short ribs in crockpot.

Best to all staying in today. I slipped at the town tree lighting last night. More embarrassed then sore. Home is warm and safe. Wishing that to all of you. The warm and safe stuff!

I'm always last and late. Good afternoon hens. Cuddling up in a circle wrapped in blankets sipping on hot coffee clucking away with each other sounds wonderful.

Stay safe and warm today. My youngest GD is coming over at 7 tonight for a few hours. I can't wait to cuddle up eat popcorn and watch Mickey Mouse, lol. I better do some baby proofing. Cya'll later.

No, tendon....sorry to say.....I think it is me that is always last and late. And by the time I post everyone has moved on. :-)

But I will still reply. lol I honestly don't know how y'all deal with the cold everyday. We had a cold front and I hunkered down. I think it was 40 something....burrrrrr. And I did not want to get out.

Kim, I hope your "boys" can keep it together and be civil to each other. Family dynamics are soo often confusing.......and stressful.

Cherry, just curious......why are you cooking an 18 lb turkey? Do y'all often cook a Turkey when it's not Thanksgiving or Christmas? Great news that you got a tenant for the apartment.

Janie, short ribs in the crock pot sound so good. Sorry you slipped at the tree lighting but with those temps I bet it happens often.......so no need to be embarrassed. Just hope that you are ok and nothing broken.

Seren, just reading about you having your windows open in this weather gave me chills. Hope you enjoyed your hibernation.

It would be great to have a P.J. party all sitting around with blankets in front of a nice fire. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but may I have hot chocolate instead?? And I would not say no to a nice Hot Totty.
