I have started getting in a few presents, not because i'm organized, i just hate leaving things to the last minute and running round like a headless chicken.

Ive even started getting in some food items that we get for Christmas as its easier to spread the cost and get 1 or 2 items each week.

No i'm not looking forward to it, i'm working the day after Christmas day! We call it boxing day.

I used to love Christmas when my son was little, now he's grown up the excitement has gone.

Its just one big stress of what gift to get for each individual.

empathy, i'm with you. the whole meaning of the holidays seems to be lost. my niece and nephew are grown and spoiled, so there's nothing i can give them. last year i gave them mementos from their great grand parents. i try to do unusual, handmade gifts.

it's stress on top of stress, so i am thinking and trying to find some things. i spent so many years away from my family and had better access to unusual things being in nyc, so i didn't have to deal with the family dinners and that sort of craziness.

i like the old spirit when family and God came first.
