Most of you know that I had to make the heartbreaking decision to close my salon for obvious reasons. I was losing money by trying to keep a business open and only being able to work a few hours a week.

Luckily, it was located in one part of the ground level of my house and was an apartment when I bought the place 11 years ago. I'm making the investment to turn it back into an apartment...much nicer than when I moved here. It will be completed in a few days.

I bought a few pieces of portable equipment and now take care of my best clients right in my house. That seems to be going well, but the rental income will make a big difference in making ends meet.

As of a couple hours ago...I have a tenant! Here's the sort of 'meant to be' part of it. My contractor is engaged to my Naturopathic do and she brought over a man who is disabled and looking for a smaller, ground floor place to live. She attracts people because she's so kind and genuine and he's one of her followers!

He's lucky to have such a great advocate and I trust her judgement completely. The majority of his rent is paid through section 8 housing and he has a cleaning service provided for him, too. He's been on isability for 15 years...long story. He's been dealt a rotten hand in life, but is as pleasant as can be.

I needed a tenant...he needed exactly what I have to offer...and seeing someone who has had to survive with a lot of physical limitations was probably good for me.

I still have to push myself to work, no matter how much it hurts, but I have a lot to be grateful for. I will survive.
