I wanted to share my new painting because as women, I think we can be relate to this. I saw this picture on the internet and it so moved me, so I put it to canvas.
It wasn't so long ago and many of us remember that women in this country didn't have the vote and many didn't dare not wear a dress, as was 'proper'. We are not so far removed.
I look at this picture and I see that this woman has to hide all of her feelings, but how different are some of us today? You will notice that the men are also masked and what are their thoughts of the woman who is only clad in a thin cloth. What is she to the battons of power?
I see so many inner struggles within this picture. Corporate to employee, fear to strength, oppression to endurance, and the list goes on. What do you see?

70F rain expectedThe rain is ok but not while I'm on my way to cardiology appointment. This is the quarterly EKG and lab work and just general check up on how the meds are working and I'm feeling. The meds have kept me out of A-fib and for that reason I want nothing changed, my cardiologist listens to what I have to say and for that I'm thankful. Pt went well yesterday and I'll do my excercises...
I think of soldiers guarding the tomb of Christ and the woman as His mother.
I see a fearless woman standing before an army of men.
To me the picture shows the strong woman. It causes me to marvel at how we as women can have caring and nurturing hearts and yet be so very strong. Few men have both qualities.
Oh well very powerful and what talent you have.
I think the soldiers are rather stunned, having a women stand in front of them. She not retreating, they not raising their guns.
I'll be honest all i saw at first was "Halo" Ive watched my son play that game so many times on passing his door or going in to get laundry. The soldiers just reminded me of that.
Then on reflection it just fills me sadness that there is still much war around, and now its been made into a game, a form of entertainment.....
