Morning Hens,
Well my dh got to Memphis and got shut down at the scales. He is not a happy camper!! He was an over size load and on Sundays you can only drive on certain roads. Stupid rules if you ask me...but they're not asking me are they lol. Anyway. He would have to sit there til today which would have put him getting home late Christmas Day. He would have done it to! Thank goodness he had another driver with him who did not want to be gone on Christmas Day!! So they bob tailed home leaving the trailer in Memphis at the scale house. He will go back Thursday. And pick it up. So he is home and very unhappy about it. Lol. He is such a Scrooge!!!
Ya'll some how or another I have got to break Littlebit from waking me up so early in the mornings!! She's had me awake since 3:30.
Got to make a med run today. Do you ever feel like a drug runner? Sometimes I wonder if this is how they feel...just not quite as sneaky.....although I have done it after dark....thank goodness walgreens stays open late LOL. Yep drug runner.....seems like I am always going after meds. How's that song go? I don't know but here is my version: "I'm too darn young to feel this darn old" seriously I take way too much meds for my age!! I'm going to die young for sure. Not going to have to worry about me living long enough to move me in a retirement home or nursing home!
Hey cherry all this rambling before a single cup of coffee......see what coffee does for me....calms me down I tell ya! Be right back...it's finally done perking!

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I too am the drug runner...but last week when I made 2 trips to Walmart I asked DH if he needed any refills. OH NO! But yesterday - I hear "I only have 3 high blood pressure meds left - order me some!" GRRR!
The winter storms missed us over the weekend THANK HEAVENS! We did get a little bit of freezing rain and snow but very little. South of us where most of my children live was hit hard and most are without power. Some do not expect it restored until this weekend.

I bravely decided i would do one more shopping trip at the mall in town. It took 45 minutes on the bus which normally takes about 15. It was packed in town as you would expect and very hot in the stores. I didn't get what i was after, i saw a jkt last week, i should have got it then instead of thinking about it.. oh well there's always the January sales! Thats if you dont mind the crush.
I certainly have felt like a drug runner these past 4 weeks what with my ear and eyes! Ive used up all the antibiotics, 15 tabs.. are your doctors as tight with antibiotics as ours are?! I'm still deaf : (
Luckily its just gale force winds and rain for us, no snow as yet, we normally get that january feb march time.

Kim, That sure sucks about your husbands run. My DH owns a trucking company and we sure know about all those kind of issues!
Joyce, I am glad that the storm missed you. We got about 8 inches of snow yesterday and having our family Christmas it was a slow ride for all getting to our home but all made it here and back home safety.
Empathy, You were brave going out to the mall….Many people out there doing last minute shopping.
As for me, we had our children and grands over yesterday for our Christmas.
I was exhausted after they all left and the girls stayed over and are still here with me but they have been perfect angles because they know that Grandma is hurting.
I must add that they are very rarely "perfect" angles!!!

my mother took my out yesterday. we had a nice lunch, then went to k-mart for storage bins and things for my water damaged apt - NIGHTMARE! them she asked to spend the night at her house - best sleep i've had in weeks and no sneezing, wheezing. we had a lovely time. she finally saw the apt today. the smell wasn't as bad bc i'd left the windows wide open, but it's chaos. i need more bins! i'm just relaxing and enjoying penny snuggling. prepping for Christmas tomorrow and organizing when i can.

There was freezing rain and sleet in so much of Vermont all weekend. It never went below freezing where I am, but it rained and there were a few roads closed due to flooding last night. A lot of people are still without power...not me. It would have forced me to take a break from all the Christmas baking I've been doing. Today I had to do my Mother's hair, too.
I can't get a handle on my pain so I guess I'm done for the day. I made chocolate doughnuts this morning and my sister came down to stir a double batch of plain doughnut dough this afternoon. That will chill until morning...then the frying begins. After I recover from this Christmas stuff I promise to spend more time here in the coop.

Well here it is Christmas Eve.. not much to say..just trying to get this pain under control.
We have our grand daughters children's service this afternoon. She is going to be an angle and can't wait to see her!
After that go to my Moms for a full blown celebration with my whole family…God knows that I am praying that I get though this one!!!
