.....to see my beautiful salon completely torn apart on Friday.
This is the survival plan I came up with. The salon space will be turned back into a lovely 2 room apartment. I have purchased everything I need to do hair in my house so the clients who've stuck with me through my difficulties will still get the care and services they deserve.
I started using my home as my salon on Tuesday. It's worked very well and my clients are actually enjoying the homey atmosphere. I'm grateful for that, but devestated to see what has begun next door.
I shouldn't have looked at this first stage. But, as always.....I'll manage.

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

Change is so hard at the time, like me loosing my little cleaning job for 18 years, i even ended up in hospital because of the anxiety it caused, but change is good, it helps us grow and keeps us alive. When we are down we fight harder!
wishing you the best!
hug and hopes for a better day.
p.s. did you try the melatonin?
It's semi-retirement...I can't work like I used to. Not even close...so I've been losing money by using such a large space for just myself.
I just had no idea what shape I'd be in when I built the place not quite 8 years ago. I pushed myself through 10 hour days back then. I was hurting then, but single, a survivor and very determined.
Gentle hugs
i can't imagine losing such a personal aspect of my working life such as my own place of business, but letting go of the reigns in the last kitchen where i'd been for more than 5 years was really, really hard for me. it felt like my kitchen...
i'm sorry for the loss of something so significant, but maybe it's a new beginning that will be the start of something great.
i hope so.
Hugs and clucks...and a couple of squacks
you put into your salon being torn down.
I hope the lighter schedule will allow you to rest more.
Maybe do some things you enjoy.
Wishing you new beginnings that bring you peace.
cheers to a new beginning
