I'm afraid and confused and I need to talk it out with someone who understands.
My teen son mentioned that he noticed that I've been really stressed lately, and this coming from a kid that has his head in a computer screen on talking to his girlfriend. If he notices, then that explains why everyone is giving me strange looks.
Migraines have been increasing and I thought that when I got Botox earlier this month, that it would settle like it did before, but this time, it didn't. My neck and shoulders have instead gotten all stiff and will spasm, but the migraines continue on. Auras, like bright sperm zooming around in one eye or the other , happen almost daily now, and then BAM, the migraine increases. I haven't had a break for months and I'm plummeting into a deep feeling of hopelessness again.
I'm not writing this to gain sympathy. For me, pity is poison and it is what stops me from sharing this. There is so little that can be done for migraines and I've tried it all now. This little kitchen reno has really took a lot out of me and I'm hiring others to do it. Today I was hoping that I would be alone with the installers, but instead I had a house full of my family too which causes stress. Then Jim stopped by to deliver lunch and I wound up running him out. I treated him like crap. I did warn him that I was stressed and in a lot of pain, and he WAS causing stress, but I was never a person that would be that cold and hard like I am now.
Then my mother called and wanted me to come over to help her with some planning next week, and I quickly cut her off and said I have to go. That's not me. There is just too much all the time.
At work, there is this guy that is bucking to get my job and likely to stab me in the back first chance he gets, and I don't give a shiat. I have such little fight in me, and so much biatch in me lately.
What would happen if I just stopped? I have to stop at some point? I can't tell anyone that I took a few days off of work because then suddenly my phone starts ringing. Seriously, I have to keep vacations days a secret and hide.
There is never enough time to rest. Half an hour here or there just doesn't cut it. I'm so used to doping up and pushing through pain that everyone in my circle just expects me to do just that ALL the time. Just one more time, just one more hour, just this time. I am so exhausted, but at the same time........
I am afraid to stop, because when I stop, I feel. I feel the fear and hopelessness and the responsibility that I have over me that weighs me down. I feel the fear that I am getting worse every year and there is nothing that can be done, and I have no back up.
People are asking me why my hands are shaking and I don't even notice myself. I am exhausted, and yet again here I sit when I should be going to bed to sleep, and I'm forcing myself to stay awake and I don't know why. Lately what I do, doesn't make sense.
I take all these drugs. For intense pain, I take a perscription muscle relaxer and Oxycodone and T-3's together and you would think that make me right high, but all it does is make my ears ring and take the sharp off the pain for a while. The pain is still there and I get no buzz high to it at all. I so wish I could take something and the pain would go away, but I don't dare take more. The pain is always there; its just a matter of degree.
I really don't know the reason for this email other than to tell someone how I really feel. This life of migraine pain is so isolating. There is no xray, no operation, no real medication, no effective painkiller, no reason and no cure.
Thank you for listening.

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. Just as teenagers do, despite shutting themselves in their room all the time.
I don't have migraines anywhere near as bad as yours, i don't know how you get through a working day to be honest, all i want to do is take a codeine tablet, and lie in my bed with the curtains shut so its dark. No noise and like seren said in her journal, no blinking flashing Avi's!
Having any major work going on in your house is stressful for anyone, i hope when its done you will feel a little relief.
The work environment gets tougher and tougher, if things were not the way they are i'd say "f**k it, get something else less stressful !" I mean are we not supposed to be working to live, rather than living to work!
What if the guy did get your job and you got demoted/moved to another dept or something, would that be such a bad thing?
Making yourself stay awake when you should be resting sounds a bit like your punishing yourself. Why do you think you deserve to be punished?
I dont have any constructive advice on what the answer would be, i would however do what my partner does when he's home, use the off switch on your phone, Pple cant hound you unless you let them.
((Huge hugs))
any home rehab is very difficult, but add in your job, migraines, and all else...so much more so.
i hope you can find some solutions. maybe counseling now to help you sort this out?
wishing you the best in finding a better place and balance.
hugs!!
I can't imagine having migraines on a daily basis. That would make anyone grumpy. I honestly don't know how to function, I have 2 to 3 migraines a month and I cannot function at all.
Maybe you need to make an effort to be good to yourself and get plenty of rest, Even if it means being rude to someone. And you might have to make yourself lay down and rest, I know I do during the day, if I don't, I feel worse in the evening. It is hard to shut the mind off but at least you could rest your body.
My dear friend it sounds like you're on the road to a nervous breakdown. Of course we're here for you to vent anytime you feel like it but I feel like you really need to destress your life someway somehow. I know it's easier said than done.
So sweet of your son to recognize your stress, what a caring person he is.
((((Hugs))))
It is true that when you have your health that things are easier. I feel so connected to Cherry perdicment. I am sole breadwinner and mortgage holder except I don't have a great family to help me out. I figure I have maybe 10 years left in me before I have to retire and I have so little in RRSP. My wage is good so I have to guard that . Wish I had a crystal ball.
In the meantime, day to day, ...well, you know. I think once this kitchen is up in two weeks, it is time to seek counselling. Insurance only covers 4 sessions, but that might be enough.
Well, tomorrow I have scheduled a complete sleep day. Phones will be unplugged and people told to stay way.
Thanks again guys. Glad I found you.

I, like the others, can't imagine how you survive a high stress job while enduring a Migraine. My heart is breaking for you and this life you are dealing with. I want to help...say the right thing...make a difference. I don't know how.
I'm glad you're taking a quiet day. You need more than a day, though. I'm here for you if you ever want to talk.
Much love and empathy...
Cherry
Stress is so hard to control, especially in situations like yours.
as all others said you need a day or more of nothing. I know easier said then done.
Love and gentle hugs
Janie
Please always know we are here for you. I think you know that anyway.
Much love.
