how exciting! i hope you have a wonderful time with the little one.

my sister is giving me my xmas gift today - sushi and just a day with her, then believe it or not her husband is going to deliver the chest i've been waiting for for months. i knew if i bought shelving...i'll have plenty of storage at last! i pulled a muscle in my arm trying not to fall last night and that kept me awake much of the night.
i'm going to squeeze in a nap before i have to get ready.

seren, ive never had sushi altho i like fish, they do a little takeaway lunch sushi at our shop in the sandwich section, maybe i will give it a go. Finally your getting that chest of draws!

Mum and dad had a lie in this morning so we were late doing the weekly food shop. I'm just going to catch up with emails and such this afternoon.

Seren, that's great about the chest and and your X-mass gift with your sister. So sorry about your arm and you finally got some sleep and it didn't bother you too much during the visit with your sister.

Empathy, I've not had sushi that often but it sure seems to be very popular. You should check it out. Hope you got the food shopping done and got caught up on mail. I am sooooo far behind on mine but I blame most of that on never knowing whether or not I can get on line. ^%^&& this computer.

Today I sorted through some of the 10 boxes that are STILL sitting in my living room from my Mil's apartment. I so wish the kids would have picked what they wanted but we moved her into assisted living with very little notice. I would be ok to just keep them in boxes instead of unpacking and packing everything again when we move. She had already giving the girl's her Chrystal and China plus her dining room table and piano. But I have a sofa (that I love) in my Dh's office and her curio cabinet in a hall way. It's getting pretty crowded in here as I have tooooooo much stuff already. I still have some of my Grandmother's china still in a box. I did find a place in the cabinet to put the serving pieces but not the dishes.

How did I manage to collect so much crap of my own??? I have got to get rid of stuff but it's hard. But I have noticed that the last time I put things in boxes to clear out stuff......I couldn't tell you what it was and haven't missed it at all. Baby steps. lol.

Wishing everyone a great weekend with great weather. The rain has finally stopped here. I hope no one is having to deal with freezing weather.

Dixe so fun.
I watched my 5 yr old grandson, because mom was busy with the two yr old. Tow year old was sick an five was jellous of all the attention given to the baby.
Ended up the baby had a 104.4 fever in dr office. Rash on belly, close to scarlet fever. So scary.
Problem I had was Tylenol or other pain relievers in kids give them a boost and you don't think they are sick.
As I said scary.

Seren. Hope you enjoyed sushi. I love it, but only once in awhile. I like to watch them make it. Hope you had a good day with sister. I do have a sister, but she has brain damage. She was breach and it happened at birth. She has lived in care of California. Sounds mean that my parents chose that, but she was so sever Mom was afraid of her other children. Now at 63 we are amazed she is still alive. We would visit, but she only responded to Dad and cows. We take her for drives in the country. Anyway venting. Always wondered what it would be like to have a sister. My surviving bro is not nice to me.

Wow, that is such a sad and powerful story about your sister. Even with her disabilty of brain damage that she has lived to be 63, it is amazing. God bless her. And love the fact that she loves the cows when driving in the country.

I have a cousin who has all sorts of problems. She is quite slow and many health issues she is diabetic and has to be watched 24/7. She even had a bone marrow transplant. She is the same age as my daughter who graduated from college, is married and now expecting a baby. I often wonder what my Aunt and Uncle feel when they are together. I am sure and hoping they are use to my cousin's issue's but often I feel bad.

Looks like we are both venting.....what a great place to be to do that. Hope it's ok.

carly, good luck in going through all the boxes. i have found the same thing. i'm trying to do the same and it can get overwhelming. maybe take photos of certain things that are important and share them with the family...just one more thought since i've been the keeper of things. they sell those little bags of silica crystals to keep the moisture away from things in storage. again good luck!

janie, i'm sorry that your sibling relationships aren't closer. they can be such a comfort, but also stress (to be honest). i'm very sorry about what happened with your sister.

i've been reading your check ins, but my energy level has been so low...just to know. and you hens are always in my prayers!
