oh dixie, i'm so sorry about henny penny and her chicks. so sad and i know you are heartbroken. i was watching mountain men last weekend (my new guilty pleasure) and a opossum was getting into his hen house. they can dig and get under the shelter. a bit late though.

we did get that storm last night. the winds and lightening and thunder were incredible. i don't think they got that high though. sorry there was a touchdown so close to home. that seems like it's going to be the pattern for the summer. i had a very lazy day yesterday and the most exciting thing was watching the belmont stakes, but my favorite didn't win. today i'm hoping to have a kitchen day...that is meditative for me.

Hi hens, sorry i haven't been on lately, mum and dad have gone away for a week.. yay!!! So ive been decorating our bedroom as its the only chance we get when they've gone away as we use their bedroom to put all our stuff in. Its still a struggle tho as we have 2 wardrobes and a bed to shift here and there as we go. I'm so tired, but its been so worth it.

Sounds like we are all getting some of that weather. It woke me up early and then I had a mid morning nap.
Not much on agenda today. Getting ready for first week on Nana's daycare with our oldest sons's two. You have heard me mention Kylie and Kegan. Madison and Kiera are staying with their other grandmother but I imagine we may have four somedays.

Kim so sorry about Henny Penny. Sounds like mischief to me with no feathers nor holes around that pen and a closed door. You could write a book about your chickens. Hope the storms stay away. We still have more coming here.

Serenity a kitchen day sounds fun. I think these spring storms are just going to lead us in to a hot summer but I am enjoying the cool down and green they give us for the time being. The birds sure seem to like it. They are singing their songs,

I want to mention that our dear Minnie has been in the hospital. Her appendix ruptured. I think she mentioned on here she hurt her back but it turned out the muscle pain was appendix.

If some of you are like me you only get a chance to read or it is late and you figure no one will see it. Want to say you are missed and please post anyway. I always read back and will respond and bring your post up to the top. Cindy you are missed if you are reading. I hope warmer weather is treating you kindly and that you and Kurt are getting out in camper some.

Hi Hens! So sorry I've not been around. So much is going on. I can't keep up with everything! I keep getting messages with all this stupid infighting in another group. Please leave me out of it. Everyone is so vague about who is pissing who off. I don't take sides, but if you want to tell me about it.....Tell me about it. Don't just hint. It all come out in the wash anyway......it just takes longer.

Hippy, thanks for mentioning our Dear Minnie has been in the hospital. I had no idea. An appendix rupture is really bad. I hope that she is well.

And yes Hippy, I always think that as I am always late...... that no one is going to reply. So sometimes why bother. But the group does make me feel like I should reply regardless whether or not I get a response. After all....it is our Hen House.

hippy, sounds like you'll have a busy summer with the GKs, but i know it's worth it. thanks for telling about minnie. i hope she's well enough to give us an update soon. i usually check in very early and through the day when i rest, then turn it off in the evening, but at some point i do read the replies that came in late.

carly, sorry you're caught up in a situation like that. hope things come out in the wash sooner rather than later. yes, i was rooting so for california chrome. what a great story.
