HI all
Its actually been better this morning with the weather. We walked into Pettswood through the park and woods and it was very muddy and very wet. Still it didnt put of all the dog walkers with their dogs. We were sat on a bench and this spanial came up to say hello, and sat inbetween doug and I. It was so funny, the dog owner apologised and tried to get the dog to come but he was quite happy sitting there : )
Well i did have a list of all the things i wanted to do with my week off. The weather prevented some of it though. I did do a few things. But i was grateful for just having a breather from work.
I have a piece of wood i found on the beach at Cornwall in 2021, and ive been trying to figure out what to do with it for ages. Ive done an experiment on another piece of scrap wood (picture above) Its resin and paint.
Ive named the Octopus Magenta : ) haha.

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

the wood is so pretty. as i scolled down i was expecting seeing magenta's home ;). that's a cute name.
having your time as your own is the biggest treat of time off work. the weather always seems to interfere with plans. what a sweet little cocker spaniel to stop by for a vist with you and doug. they're such great dogs.
the postal worker almost delivered my package to my neighbor, but i happened to be looking out the screen door, so yay, i got it. a red dutch oven and ton, a chickpea stew is likely to be my first dish in it and here. i have to check my ingredients since my kitchen hasn't made it to ideally organized yet. i'm excited to start. maybe tomorrow since rain is predicted all day.
mother still wasn't feeling very well - shaky and unsteady, so i went down for her dinner b/c they don't bring her preferences and she doesn't eat. i hope she's just adjusting to the reduction of meds. i'll check on her soon.
today is nice and sunny, but too chilly to open the door. high only 55*. it's 38 now. we call this sweater weather and i'll be wearing one today.
hugs n hope for a sweet saturday!
I'm feeling better today. I think having a slightly better sleep last night helped but I was still up numerous times in terrible pain. No trouble with my breathing so I don't think it's covid. I think I'm just run down from spending last weekend at my daughter's and not getting enough sleep.
Serenity I hope your mother feels more herself soon. Once she adjusts to the change in meds I know how hard it is to move and try to get things how you want when you can't do it all at once. I'm still adjusting to the new house and we've been here off and on since last July. It will get there and so will yours.
Sandra, I love the art you made! It's beautiful. I love how you put the little shells along the bottom.. I've never worked with resin, is it hard to work with?
Take care everyone and have a nice weekend. Hugs,
Nonie
Noni, VR is the future lol. I'm glad your feeling better, i cant believe we still have to worry about covid. Who knew when we first heard of it. Resin for me has been a lot more misses than hits, Its costly too keep buying the resin.
Sandra-That piece of art being unique, creative and beautiful is awe inspiriing. Having a week off from work gives a real breather. Dogs know good people, that is why the pooch loved you both.
Serenity-I hope your Mom feels better soon. It's so difficult getting older. Enjoy your Dutch Oven and all the meals you will prepare. Have made Arroz con Pollo in one? Delish.
Noni-It's great news to have you feeling better. The new covid strains don't have the breathing and lungs so much of an issue anymore. Covid has mutated about 6 times and the results are each time is milder symptoms.
It takes time when moving to a new home and location to get the feeling of what is needed. So just over four years everything is falling into place with furniture, paint and visual concepts. The added issue is living in a floating home and the amount of sun reflecting off the river. The new TV stand and placement solved the constant sun reflections. Perfect. The slightly different wall color of blue has a deeper value, the shades of purple's are awesome! So happy.
Enjoy the day.
PEACE
toni texted while i was out and couldn't get into DS even on her phone, but things are going well and i'll save her news for her to get back in.
i forgot to get chicken while i was out, so i may add shrimp to the stew. it is Indian. i love the warm spices they use. i love arroz pollow, too, so that will be soon. i miss cooking, but that will take me a while too, building up my special spices and all.
wishing all a special evening.
nonie and moonie, thanks for reminding me how long truly settling takes!
Thanks Serenity ♡ your oven sounds great and chickpea stew has to be the first! It's sounding like jambalaya as you go along, but hey who doesn't love that! Sorry to hear your mother isn't feeling well. Where are you doing your laundry now? I just thought of that because I was couldn't warm up so I put my comfy clothes in the dryer to warm up. That's so much better. Wish you could. Cool on the freebie finds.
Seems hooking up to a laptop confused ds. I just might stick to the phone in here.
Well I could have sold my car in 5 minutes it was wanted so much. Over 500 views, used cars are so in demand. I decided to wait until this morning for a mom who wanted it for her son's 1st car. I sure am glad I chose them, I swear the sun shined a little brighter! He can't drive it until next week when he turns 16 so he'll be squirming, but he has something to look forward to. I couldn't help myself I gave him a $100 for his birthday his smile somehow got bigger. He just made my day : )
I went shopping for me and the pantry I wish someone would make me do it in 2 trips. I hurt so bad. It's bag yourself and load and unload.
Sandra I love your craft! You really are talented, my friend and I would have taken you to our sales tables at flea markets, you would have sold out. Magenta is a cool name! Your park adventure sounds like so much fun. Glad you're weather was that nice.
Lisa it's great to hear you're feeling better, stinking covid makes me worry now about everything. Fantastic your grandson still likes hanging out and doing other things besides playing games his brain might survive!
That's great Moonie, it's important to feel contented at home. I bet you have it fixed up so beautiful,
Carly are you hiding, I haven't seen you? I'm willing to conk you in the head so you can sleep hehe
Bet I sleep well tonight and I hope everyone else does the same.

Serentity, I so pray that mom is feeling better. I so love an estate sale. So great that you had some good finds.
Nonie, it sounds so very cold for you. It gives me a chill just hearing about it.
We started at 60 and it rose to 83 and now at 77. You can never predict the weather.
I have been having problems as well with my internet so I am trying to get to everyone before it closes on me again.
I was very busy today as we had a major water leak in the garage. We are still trying to figure out where it came from. And I am still trying to dry things out.
I lost boxes of Christmas gift bags, b-day gift bags and just all around bows and ribbons that I hate to lose. Just wondering if they will be ok if I dry them.
Don't forget to jump forward. Ha! That's all I need is to lose yet another hour of sleep.
Moonie, so great that after these years you are getting things settled and you seem to be very happy with it. And I am so very happy for you.
My eyes are closing. But I wish everyone the very best night and a wonderful tomorrow.
Sending much love and hugs to all.
xoxo
