I'd add what should happen to such people as that guy, but at the moment, I can't think of anything nasty enough for someone who'd do that to his kids.
Softest protecting prayers for you and your daughter and the grands,
Leo
She is working up her courage to file the Complaint for Custody; in NC (even when you are not married to the "baby daddy", you have do it to get them in school, and prior to Child Support-which makes sense). She will do it Tuesday. He will have 30 days to answer. But he has not indicated he wants custody, and she's going to tell him it's because of school. (Not because we think he or his family might not just "keep" the girls after visitation.)
I have done all her legal paperwork -- fortunately I am still enough in my right mind to have my skills. Also did the draft of the required "Parenting Agreement" and document with hyperlinks for all the child support stuff, which needs to go through DSS as NC is all about the child's rights, not what the parents want. And keeping kids off state programs.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ORDER -- have one drafted and she has it. The police told her when she filed the report after calling them that night that since he had only been moved out 2 days, and still had a key, she could not file one. However, there is a police record of the incident.
I am also keeping a calendar of things -- like him dropping the kids from his health insurance this week, not giving her time to get them on hers until August 1.
YES, it is affecting my PD, but the prayers of all my friends holds me together. Her sisters are supporting her tremendously as well and are of the "kick a**" nature, if we need that. He is basically a coward, but with that awful TX incident this week, we are NOT taking this lightly.
Thank you all for the prayers! Love you guys to the moon!
The past two days he's be "wooing" her -- but she's holding firm. I will pass this along to her, with the form again. Thanks for caring!
The only thing about filing a protection order is she better act on it if he does one little thing wrong, for them to take her seriously. Why be cautious with him, he's already shown what he's capable of? Too many think that way and it's backfired on them.
Prayers and hugs,
Toni
THANK YOU BEYOND WORDS about the forms. I just completed the Protective Order ex parte, and the required Affidavit for each minor child. I emailed them to her & her older sister (who I discussed this with when she flew back from NOLA, and stopped to get her dog before heading back up to where she lives, close to Jessie). She agreed to help.
I sent a cover letter detailing this all gets in place BEFORE he is notified, gives her temporary custody while she waits out the permanent process, starts the child support while DSS starts the process, and does not take away her visitation, but means the girls can be "exchanged" at a neutral, public location. It says he can't come to her house, or her work, or buy a gun.
MOONDANCING -- tell your sis a big hug and thank you, and prayers. Pray Jessie does this.
Toni, you are SO right about it will explode whenever it happens. And he really doesn't want the kids or her, just wants someone to take care of him. He's 35, for heavens sake, and never lived anywhere except with his parents or a girl, and never paid any of his own bills. Thanks be to a gracious God for placing so many earthly angels in one spot.
