Garage demolition

The guy from the building demolition company just called me a few minutes ago to tell me he and his crew are coming to tear down our garage tomorrow. I am so glad it will be over so the mean city inspector won't be able to keep giving us the fine. The contractor guy said he will have everything finished on Wednesday. Our yard will be less bumpy from the fallen tree branches and other junk. They are not going to clean the yard out completely but will take with them noticeable pieces of debris. 


About the incident of the young woman who I refused to give money, I told the story in the Sunday post if you want to see it. I feel horrible about turning her away. I was half asleep when she banged on the door this morning and didn't have much time to think of what I should do, and her uber was waiting. She told me she would pay me back later this afternoon the $15 she borrowed earlier plus $25 she tried to borrow today and $100 in food stamps! But that was what she said when she borrowed the $15 two months ago. I think I should at least phone her brother to find out what happened to her. If you pray, please say a prayer for me about what I should do.

That is a big burden on you that will now be gone. As far as the young woman, she is indeed in financial straights but you must tell you are very sorry but you can no longer help her financially as it does place a burden onto you. Suggest she look online in particular YouTube for jobs she can do from home. There are many opportunities. Too bad she doesn't have a car as she could do Door Dash or Insta Cart. Many people in my area are doing side hustles to increase their income as this is a tiny town without many opportunities.

Thank you so much, Joanne, for helping me think of what to tell the girl. I misplaced both her phone number and her brother's phone numbers when I decided I was going to call her brother but the brother lives only two minutes drive away. We are not close to them and almost didn't see them for over fifteen years. They came inside our house to visit and play when they were young. The girl was twelve years old. The worse feeling I have right now is I killed my good friendship with this girl by not loaning her the money and hurt her feeling. She was crying when she was leaving. I was half awake and for some reasons felt she was lying about the uber thing. There was a white car parked on the street in front of our house, and the driver started to drive away and she yelled for him not to leave. I think that (her crying) is what makes me feel guilty and terrorized. I didn't feel emotionally close to her. That was probably why I couldn't feel her pain when she was begging me to help her. After she left, that was when everything started to sink in. Thank you so much for reading this. I feel shaky as if I just killed someone. This is not okay. At least the girl needs to know that I didn't mean to hurt her. I was afraid she would not come back to pay me back. That was the main reason why I would not loan her the money since she did it the other time and didn't bother to contact me.

About her getting a job, I think she is not in a condition to hold a job right now. She needs to rehabilitate herself. I think I am getting sick mentally from guilt. It is weird. I will eventually calm down though. My husband has been listening to me rambling on and on. It is a complicated situation. Thanks again for listening. I feel much better after reading what you wrote.

Tomorrow my beloved garage will be destroyed. It is a complete ruin when I looked at it today even though the four walls are still standing. It's the roof that is gone.
