We seem to have people from all walks of life here. Just curious as to what we all do for a living? Or what we would rather be doing...
Im a nurse and I work in the cancer unit. One day I would love to be a uni lecturer so I can nurture the minds of upcoming nurses.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
When i was a cadet all I wanted to do was to be the boss.......now im the boss all I really want to be is to go back to being a cadet....no budgets, no responsibities, no pressure, no staff that make you wonder how the hell they managed to tie there shoe laces this morning....lol.
Recently I have prioritised my ambitions.... all I wish to be now is a surf bum.
Started working life as a file clerk (yuck), then as a typist, secretary, admin person whatever but have had assorted jobs since. Cafe supervisor, pizza maker and delivery person, putting together key rings (that was the worst!), teddy bear maker and stuffer (that was the best) shoving filling up a teddy bear is so satisfying!, and cleaner. Looking after house and family now when I can. But life is good!
Then I worked as a cleaner at a high school (HORRIBLE JOB)
Then I went back to childcare but as a nanny which I absolutely LOVED!
But I got too sick to keep going, so that put paid to that job.
Now Im back at Uni aain studying Counselling which is fulfilling, but hard work - especially when Im having a lot of health problems - my brain doesnt work right sometimes.
While Im at uni, I work in the local Library - Which is great because its so stress free - We dont have a shhh library, its quite noisy, but its great - I help coordinate the childrens activities, as well as the usual borrowing/returning, shelving etc.
I also work in the mornings from home as a telecare worker - That means that I have a list of about 30 (which changes every month) people who I ring between the hours of 7.30 and 9am to check if they are ok or need anything. It gives ill or elderly people a chance to stay at home longer and have that extra little bit of independence. Someone else does the next shift and then another so the people get three phone calls a day. I love this work and the work at the library. I havent been doing wither lng enough to hate them yet lol. We'll see, but right now I love both jobs.
