New Ortho tomorrow...

Tomorrow morning at 8:45 I will have my appt. with Dr. Chen. I've heard wonderful things about him and he's too young to be winning awards on the senior tennis team like the last one I saw! He should just retire and devote all his time to sports!

I really hope I don't need a second referral and appt. to get this doc to look at my knee. The pain has now involved my hip down to my foot and my altered gait is causing pain on the other side, too. The pain in my knee has started to feel like it's burning, now. What's with that???

I also wrote a letter, brought the printout of my med history signed by my Pharmacist and delivered it to my NP!! She's been screwing with my meds and not reading my records. My Pharmacist was livid and called her to straighten out the goof she made with my last script. She made it clear that I have never abused my meds or shopped at any other Pharmacy. She's amazing...as amazing as my NP is inept. That's why I made a chocolate cake for her last Wednesday!

I'm really hoping I can get on a decent PM plan and that the Ortho can shed some light on my Rotator Cuff and knee issues. Am I asking too much? Maybe...

Anyway...thanks for being here for me. It makes a huge difference in my life.

No honey your not asking too much.....that loser NP just isn't smart enough to figure it out! I hope you can get a team of doctors together that work for you!! Of course most of us are happy to just have one...lol!

I have a great PCP and PM....oh, my pharmacist is just awesome as well. I'm lucky and it's taken me about 5 years to find doctors that don't mind working together..lol!

I wish you all the luck with your appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to here how it went!!

hi cherry....imsending prayers up for you!!!!..is the burning a new thing?i get burning but mines due to nerve damage and the way your pains radiaiting,sounds like it could be nerve damage as well...maybe something to ask...i had bad experience with ortho...he wrote meds twice then told me i shouldnt be having that much pain due to what he found on xray...w-e....they found so much on it n m r i that he was just plain not willing to continue treatment,thus,the p.m. doc who is a nuro surgeon....i like him because he is the ONLY ONE WRITING MY PAIN MEDS.........LOL...NO NP TO SCREW ME OVER..DONT YOU JUST HATE THAT?So i know that no other np or doc in his office(cause he's the only one)will be messing with my meds...i really hope they help you tomorrow....let us know...:)

Amy...yes, the burning is new. I have nerve pain from my neck tha goes down my arm on the same side as the messed up shoulder. The knee problem started a couple months ago and has now caused pain from hips to feet! The burning started yesterday and by last evening, I was having muscle twitches and difficulty walking.

Cinnamon...this new doc is with a group in Franconia, NH and they use the hospial in Littleton for surgery. It's a heck of a lot closer than Boston! A friend of mine loves this doc. She's a couple years younger than me, but has already had a knee replacement, rotator cuff surgery and now has another repair scheduled...all with Dr. Chen! She loves him!

Dare I be hopeful...again?

wow....cherry,i know nerve pain myself...i had surgery on my ulnar nerve(by the elbow)...the damage is back,test show a decrease in its reaction...but that surgery left me in pain for months before it subsided...thing is it was flaring for months,now its calmed down,im opting for no surgery till it starts up bad again...your in my prayers this morning!!!!!!

oh geeze cherry,i wanted to add,if you see this before you leave for doc...ask if its nerve pain and what can they do...it was good waking up and talking to you..you are an early bird,i hate that its the pain waking you...:)...(((((((hug)))))))

I do hope this doctor can help you, and find out what is wrong, so you can get the right treatment you deserve!!
I am sorry that we have to go thru, not so great doctors, till we find that gem! You are in my thoughts today :)

Well...the clinic is beautiful and everyone who works there is delightful! Dr. Chen and a PA looked at my MRI and saw what the radologist saw. I have a full thickness tear and another smaller one. It won't heal on it's own so surgery is really my only choice...crap.

Because I deal with cervical neuropathy, it's gotten very bad on the side of the injured shoulder. He said they are so closely connected that my neck pain will be worse for a while after surgery....crap, again. My neck is causing so much nerve pain now...can't imagine it worse.

I have an appt. for him to check my painful knee on Thursday morning. My pain level has been off the charts today. I don't know how I managed to drive myself over here and when I got out of the car, I wasn't sure I could walk in. I must have been quite a sight!

Now this is going to be the really hard part.....I have to quit smoking!

glad your visit was positiveas far as the people there....but so sorry you have to have surgery...my prayers are with you...

Thanks, Amy...it really bites! Especially the part about increased neck pain. The meds better change if that's going to happen.

Cherry, I'm so glad you had a good experience w/ a doc. After what you've dealt w/ lately, you really deserve it. Actually, we all deserve good experiences ALL the time but it doesn't usually work that way. LOL

The PA who came in for the first part of the exam was a little concerned about managing post operative pain since I'm already taking what they prescribe! I thurts so bad tonight that I guess I'll have to risk the extra pain for the long term result. I'm really concerned about the neck pain being worse after, though. It's so bad now!

Awww, Cherry (extract) I'm sorry you have to have surgery. It also sucks that you'll have more neck pain afterwards. I hope you were somehow able to get the pain under control for tonite anyway. Do you have a date for the surgery yet? Sending gentle hugs, and best wishes for better days ahead. xxxx

Cherry! Try really hard not to look at this surgery as a bad thing, but as progress finally! I mean you finally have a dr that is doing something for you to get you on the road to recovery. Yes it might take awhile, but doing nothing sure isn't helping anything is it?
I'll be here and the rest of your roomies to help you through this. Probably the hardest part will be the no smoking! LOL

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
