I know I've been very quiet lately. I miss the daily check in post. It gave me a place to just say Hi or a quick post without having to start a new thread just to say I'm still around. I read almost every day but posting is sporadic at best.

I am doing a bit better pain-wise the last few days but I haven't been to physio or massage since last tuesday so that tells why. Over the weekend I went to my hometown 2 hrs away and stayed with my best friend. Her son got married on the beach Friday evening and we went to that (brought the kids too). It was beautiful and they just had a finger-foods reception and dance so it was very casual. Her kids are like my nieces and nephews since we were always together when they were growing up. It was so nice to see them all again and to stay at my friends' house for the weekend. What really surprised me was that my back didn't kill me while I was away. It was far from perfect but better than its been for a while now.

We spent Saturday at the beach where I practically lived as a child and we even snooped around my old home, its abandoned now and in horrible condition but we took a look and I reminisced. I saw tons of relatives and friends that I haven't seen in years. It has been 3 years since I've been there - the summer before I hurt my back since it is 2 hrs away and I just couldn't do it until now. We sat out and had a bonfire in the back yard Saturday night and then came home Sunday. It was a great weekend, and helped my mood alot. I was able to forget about my insurance woes and doctors and physio for 2 days. There was still the meds to take and people asking me all kinds of questions but I enjoyed it tremendously. There are alot of things I miss about my hometown but alot of things I'm glad to be removed from too.

I hope you all had a great weekend. It is terribly hot here, as it seems to be everywhere, but we are getting through it with fans and the beach to cool off.
