I have a few minutes to check in before heading back to the hospital. My son had emergency surgery this morning for ruptured appendix. Our local hospital is notorious for having a dreadful ER and this another case were they really screwed up.
Blair's girlfriend had driven him dwn at 3:00 Thursday morning because he was in terrible pain and vomiting blood. They gave him a bag of fluid and sent him home saying, 'this is going around'. The next 24 hours, his pain was so bad and his abdomen had inflated like a balloon. So...3:00 this morning, his wonderful gf drove him back in a horrible blizzard and they finally decided to investigate further.
They had to wait 45 minutes for the surgeon to get there and operate. He's finally in a room, drugged and they're watching for infection. That's where I've been all day and will be going back shortly.
So...if you could spare some prayers, healng energy or whatever you do, I'd really appreciate it.

I am very familiar with idiots. When my fingers where closed in the car door, they X-rayd and sent me home without any treatment. I lay in bed awake all night trying not to scream in pain.
You are a great mother compared to mine. She just yelled at me for crying. And I was crying quietly!
Oh well, these things pass.
Keeping him in my prayers. Seems like he should be on Morphine not dilaudid. That is very painful.

As Sunny says, but I will step it up, it is unconscienable for that to happen in today's society.
My mom died because of neglect by nurses and doctors in the ER. She never made it to a room. I cannot imagine an Er doctor sending home a patient as you described your son.

Blair is so lucky to have such a wonderful GF who took care of him,driving in the blizzard. Glad they were able to make it to the hospital.
