Suboxone Support Group Community Group
This group was started in 2008. It started as a support group for those who took Suboxone to recover from opiate abuse. It still can be that type of group, but I feel I need to state the following: I still believe in Suboxone for opiate abuse, but firmly believe that it should only be a drug that should be prescribed by a doctor that is an addiction specialist. It is not...

I lead a Suboxone group therapy every Monday and we usually go around the room and share about our week. Well, I have been thinking that we should be doing more things than that. Like talking about more topics, making goals, delving in deeper. Even though, when we do share, we get into a lot of different topics and most times even go over the hour. But, I would love some help from everyone on this one. Help on some topic ideas. I was thinking, and I got this one from my daughter, how my addiction affected my daughter! I asked her and she told me. I wrote it all down, I didn't even realize some of this. Like one time me being so out of it, I got up and accused her of stealing out of my purse, she was 11. She is so grateful for Suboxone. It gave her, her momma back just in time to be a nana to her beautiful daughter, Elly. So, do you guys have any topic ideas for me????? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

I got a call from my pain management doctor telling me I had an appointment yesterday, and it felt so good to not care about it, and not even think about going. Guess I'll just keep on keepin on.
Good Luck, everyone! And God Bless!
Before that, I was on vicodin, but then wanted to get pregnant, so I weaned myself down and CT the vics. Two days of what I now know to be VERY MILD WD's, no problem.
Then I got pregnant, had the baby, and went right back to the pain killers. The only difference being that now the docs were giving out roxy's by the bucketfull, and I went right along with it.
I've been on 24mgs (subs) for five weeks. We're going to see how it goes. My doc said that he will never force me to reduce my dosage, but that he'd like to try to see how it works. He's told me about cases where people were only on it for a few weeks, and other cases where they were on it for years. He said it's totally dependant on me and how I feel.
For the last three years my DOC was 30mg oxycodone. I was taking anywhere from 10 to 20 a day, at the end, maybe more if I had alot. I started being miserable, because I spent so much time, energy and money on my addiction, and I was just tired of it being the first thing I thought of when I woke up, and the last thing I thought of before I went to sleep. And lots in between. I got a new job, and had about two weeks before my start date, and woke up one morning, and just told my grandmother everything. She was great about it, and I told her about Suboxone, (my sister had been on it) and I made an appointment for the very same day. I threw myself into withdrawls, taking my first dose too soon. It was a rough few days, but I've been fine ever since. And here I am!
