I remember having a severe headache that got better. About 2hrs later I realized I was having some type of confusion. I lost my ability to make proper decisions. I continued to drive as I was not thinking correctly. Drove down a one way street and just blacked out. Woke up to find my self on the ground surrounded by Paramedics. I hit a car and never knew it. It was like my brain shut down. Things are much better now.

I had a terrible headache, before, during and after. I recall begging for something for my headache,which was lower right side of my head. I also remember how my body ached,"how could a stroke hurt when I couldn't move"my left arm and leg?

For me, I was on the computer looking at antiques when all of a sudden my right hand trembled. My husband asked me 'what are you doing? I told him I wasn't doing that and just kept doing what I was doing. Then a few minutes later my hand trembled again. My husband asked me again 'what are you doing? I said very emphatically 'I didn't do that!' Then all of a sudden I felt light-headed and kind of sick and told him I was going to go lay down. When I stood up I lost all control over my entire body. He took me to the bed and helped me lay down. Then, suddenly, I couldn't talk. That scared us both to death. He called 911 and the rest, as they say, is history.
But I guess my point is, I never had a headache or any kind of indication something was wrong. I think back trying to remember something that I might have missed and still nothing. So it affects everybody different.

I was talking on the phone, my left hand fell, dropping the phone, I picked it up with my right hand, to continue my conversation, I talked like I was drunk, that scared me I realized I couldnt feel my left side. I called 911 we went to the hospital. I had a terrible headache for about a week after.but I never lost conciousiness.

I just got out of the shower,the phone rang & I was talk my girlfriend & her other line rang,so I told her I will call you later becuz I have to go xmas shopping for my kids. Then I hang up. I
felt something akward, but I thought it was becuz I was working hard for my Realtor Offices that I just open 4mo. eariler. Then I fell. My son found me, 7hr. later when he got home with work. I can hear his voice when he call 911! My heart was breaking for him! Pam

had no memory of my last week. woke up thirsty was standing by the fridge and couldn't move, knew I was having a stroke and was fully conscious. 911 was called and by 11am I was having brain surgery. but my headache was a week previous according to me daughter.

I went to bed early with a splitting headache and when I showered one of my eyes rolled back into my head. I was incoherent and when I woke up to use the bathroom I stumbled to the bathroom.

For me I was at the pc., was finished , got up with my latte of coffee and then I lost conscouisness. I do not recall how long I was out for, but do remember when I awoke there was no fear rather why I couldn't get up. There were no signs no Sx.

I had what I later told was a stroke in June of 2006. I was returning from a Concert, when I experienced a sudden serve headache. I became very disoriented. I was able to make it to the car. I was with a friend. She drove me home. During the drive I became worse. Before making it home I had to vomit. My friend drove me home, but I was unable to walk from the driveway to the house. It took my wife and my friend to get me into the house.

Due to earlier events I declined an offer to be taken to the Hospital. Soon the vomiting returned and lasted the rest of the night The next day I was taken to my Doctor. The Doctor On duty took one look at me and called for an Ambulance. I was taken to the Hospital.

I never realized that I had a Stroke. My symptoms included extremely poor balance and vomiting and serve headahce. I remained in the Hospital for 5 long weeks. That time was very fizzy. I don't remember much

I thought my first (mini) stroke was an inner ear infection. I was dizzy and my face was numb. I called the DR, his nurse told me to get to the hospital. I didn't go for another 36 hours. I convinced myself that whatever I had would be 'cured' by doing crossword puzzles!

You all are probably gonna think I'm crazy. But here goes. I was the primary caretaker of my husband who was very ill at the time. He passed away in February 2007. But back then I was more concerned with his health than I was with mine. I was told that I was more than likely having TIA's that I was ignoring before I had the stroke. I was having severe headaches for about 2 weeks, but I suffer from migraines so, I pushed through headaches that allowed me to stay on my feet. My words would slur my then go back to normal, at some point I was unable to walk a straight line. I would try to walk straight but would always veer off to the side. Then one time I was driving. I'm right handed, drove with my left. Lost control of the car, went into the oncoming traffic. my kids were in the car w/me (15b, 18g). Used my right hand to pull over & let my daughter drive home. I cried and told my husband I didn't know what was wrong with me but something was wrong. I ended up asking my mom to take me to the ER for HIM that day and I just got myself checked out while I was there w/him. CT Scan showed nothing. Keep in mind I couldn't walk a straight line. We were in the ER together he got admitted to the hospital I didn't. I went home, woke up the next morning left arm was drawn up, and I couldn't move my left leg, foot or toes.

Only thing a felt was a ping. Sorta like a tuning fork in my head for a couple of seconds

My stroke was bizarre, nobody mentioned my type of symptoms as it was happening so here it goes...

I was walking into a coffee shop, stumbled into someone, directly into her face and front, I couldn't talk, stand or walk. I was falling all over the place... They offered that I sat down, I couldn't walk so they carried me to the nearest chair.
I felt as if I was going to pass out, instead I layed back in an upholstered chair... and INSTANTLY, I knew what was happening.
The entire left side felt like a blanket was being drawn from head to toe. It was a definate line like as if someone drew a line straight down the center of you, right side was ok, left side (started at the top and went to my toe = within 2 seconds) felt like the tingling of when your arm goes to sleep, paralyzed and the pressure simular to a tight blood pressure cuff, completely down your entire left side for a total of about 10 seconds.

When others were asking questions, the right side responded, the left side drooped and didn't. I couldn't drink the water someone offered me and spit it back out. I was totally conscience the entire time, but answering inappropriatly... They asked if I knew what was happening? I said no, and I knew darn well at that point, yes, but it didn't come out. When they asked me to sit back, before I sat into the upholstered chair, I understood but couldn't do it.

I had my speech back within an hour and learned how to walk within 4 days.
