I am a new comer to this site. I am 57yrs. old and dealing with a problem adult son. I am living in his home (that I gave him the down payment for) and since I moved in he's been very cruel and gives me a hard time about EVERYTHING. We had a very close and special relationship until he got the thousands of dollars from me for the house. He decided to do a lot of remodeling on the home before he moved in and I was already living in my section of the house. I dealt with all the contractors, put up with flooding inside the house, didn't have air conditioning or a stove or a kitchen sink, etc. I continued to do what I could to help him get his section the way he wanted it and not only did I get no gratitude, but, kept getting verbally abused. He was nasty, walk away from me when I'm talking to him, telling me I'm crazy, I "need help", I'm "loosing it", etc. It seems the more I did for him or do, the more I get taken advantage of, the more I get treated horribly. THe more it hurts! I realized that I gave him too much and expected nothing, and apparently that was the worst thing I could have done. Just not used to not helping my kids.
