Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
The best advice I can give you is don't force yourself to deal with it, it's just stuff right now you need to focus on yourself, you've been through literally the worst thing a parent can experience and you need time to heal, don't let anyone pressure you to make a decision even if they mean well because you don't need any more pain in your life today.
Big hugs to you honey, I promise you that it won't always hurt this bad, I'm about 3 1/2 years in and I can tell you it does get better.
I agree with SophiasMom that it does get better with time. One never forgets, but time does help to heal. A big hug from me as well!
Just keep it stored if u can. It's only going to be in your face all the time if it's not.
What ever you choose, be kind to yourself and try not to doubt your decision - as doing the right thing. Make your best choice for you and your husband. That's all we can do.
Hugs.
For my hubby and I, what felt right was to pack away all of the clothes and supplies into totes and then into the nursery closet (I did this with the help of my mom and SIL). We kept the room decorated and the crib set up. I actually find it kind of nice to look in there every day. It brings back good memories too, not just pain, because I remember how much love my husband put into preparing for our baby.
We also plan to try again in a few months, and I didn't want to have to leave the door shut for a year. :(
