Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
Since you are considering having another one soon I think you should keep it around if you have the space. Victoria's room looks the same right now as the day she was born - the only thing not done is putting a few pictures on the walls.
It helped me that everything was all neutral because we didn't know what we were having. But economically it makes sense to keep it around if it will not bother you to have it there or if you don't know of someone else's baby that might be able to use it.
The only thing that's been weird for me is how I refer to it. EVERYTIME I say "Victoria's room" I feel strange because in reality it's our childrens' room because they were going to have to share it for a few years.
We keep the door shut too, but that's mostly because the vent in there is closed and it's freezing in there. But I go in there quite frequently and dust at least once a month now. For those 1st couple of months I obsessed and dusted it every single week.
Also you might want to consider what it's going to be like to break it all back out if you pack it away. That will be a very emotional time. Not that that's a bad thing. Just telling you that it might be a little tough once you reach that point.
I like the idea that my next baby will have some of his/her older brother's stuff. It will remind me of him in a good way. "Hey, remember when grandma bought this for Wyatt..." maybe a little sad, but I know it will make me smile. You know your next baby will get plenty of new stuff too! And obviously your next baby is not a replacement--no one in their right mind would think that was why you kept the stuff.
I think it all depends on how you feel about seeing the things on a daily basis on a different baby. There is no right answer but the one in your heart. You can always keep everything until the last minute and then change your mind!

The room that would have been June's was my 3 1/2 year old son's until we transitioned him to his big brother room two weeks before she was born. So the furniture and a lot of the things in there were once his too.
I like to think that June would want to give her things to a baby brother or sister who may come along someday so that's why we plan on keeping it all as is.
At around four/five months after losing Chek, I packed everything away in his room. I took the room down to just the large pieces of furniture, and left it like that for a couple of months. Just before I found out I was pregnant again, I went back in and we put the curtains up and rearranged things. I actually put some pictures of DH and I in there, along with a little prayer box. I decided at that point that it was a place of hope; no longer a place of pain. I found out I was pregnant again a couple of weeks later.
I know that my story isn't the same for everyone, and if you find it too painful to think of using your angels things for their sibling, then you should probably think of selling it or giving it away. However, I would take time to make this decision. You may feel a certain way about it one month, and then feel totally different the next.
I know how painful this topic is. Do what you feel is best, but try not to make any snap decisions that you may regret later.
Hugs, Sam.
Then we thought, well if Connor were alive and used the room, we wouldnt change a thing for the next one. We also have to get out of the habit of calling it "Connors room" I thing the stuff can stay but the name has to change to nursery or babies room. What really made me realize I want to keep everything is when my therappist suggested taking it all down..my instant reaction (which I kept to myself) was how dare you, its staying how it is.
The point is you have to do what you feel is right for you.
