Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
Anyway... most of them I barely remember I was in such a fog... take care {hug}
There was only once card that we received that really bothered me, and still does to this day.. it was from my fiances grandma, who he has only met once and does not have a relationship with. In the card she told us she was sorry for our loss, and then went on to say "but.. God has a plan for everyone. Babies deserve to grow up in married, loving families that have the means to support them and give them the best life they can. You will get your baby in the future when you are ready.." WHAT WAS THIS LADY THINKING?!?! First off.. we aren't married YET because we postponed the wedding to have our angel, and then cancelled the wedding after losing her because we just couldn't do it at the time. Just because we haven't had a ceremony to officially get married does not mean in any way that we don't love each other, and that the baby would not grow up in a loving home. Second off.. we both work AND we both own a business, and we make plenty of money to support a baby... (but I am a college student, so she was stereotyping). And third off.. get our baby when we are ready?! we were ready... for our angel daughter! She would of been well taken care of and grown up in a family and taught good morals and values, and would have gotten everything she could need and want, to a reasonable point.
I was just appalled at this card.
Sorry for the rant, but I can understand how the sympathy cards can be upsetting because nobody is recognizing the birth of your angel, or your angel's life, just the fact that your little one isn't with you anymore. I did appreciate those who congratulated us on the birth, as well, and I think that is why I was happy to receive these cards.
((hugs))
