Theres a few "mantras" i Like to repeat to myself to keep from totally going nuts lately, mainly when some stupid voice in my head starts telling me what a bad mom I was/am and this is it:
"the rest of the world is going to beat you up as much as it can, every bad person in your life is going to bring you down, so why help them? Be KIND to yourself, love yourself and support yourself when no one else can!!"
I love all the angel moms here, and I know you have bad thoughts like mine all the time, even though most of us don't post about it. It's motherly guilt to blame ourselves for the pain our children suffer and when they die we blame ourselves for everything. My own mom even blamed herself for my losing Sophia, she was worried she had passed on some genetic trait that caused this because I almost died while I was being born.
basically what I'm trying to say is
STOP KICKING YOURSELF AROUND, THE WORLD IS DOING THAT FOR YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH HELL MAMA'S!! HUG yourself, remember you are fragile and human and that you did all you could do on this earth to love and give life to your child. In the world after this we will all be together one way or another. For today, please keep your head up as much as you can, find a reason to smile or laugh and try not to feel guilty about it. Laughter is good medicine. remember one good moment of love you shared with your baby, try to remember the loving parts despite the pain. LOVE U ALL HUGS HUGS

Good post, always nice to read something uplifting bc we do spend too much time beating ourselves up or just being depressed. It's so hard not to these days.

A very good mantra! We must try to help ourselves, even if others around us don't. And we can help each other, just by being part of DS.

Thank you for this :) I really needed it. I was blaming myself today after we got a phone call from the Dr's office to let us know that our baby did not have a chromosomal abnormality. I was not expecting a phone call and it completely threw me for a loop. I was in temporary shock about it and didn't know to feel relieved or sadened by the news. I guess its a good thing but it stll leaves us with no reason as to why our baby isn't here. I know a lot of people never get an answer and I thought that I was prepared to not know until I got the call that told me that more test results were ruling out more reasons. My husband made me promise before I had even delievered Jameson that I would not ever blame myself; but I find it really hard to know that me being overweight or having gestational diabetes may have contributed to him not being here. I decided to share some of my thoughts with my husband earlier and he got mad at me. I think he just gets frustrated with me feeling this way because its the one thing that he cant understand or help me get thru. This "promise" has just made me feel like I have to keep it to myself. This was certainly needed for me today. Thanks for sharing!
