I was wondering if anyone else felt a sense of shame after losing their baby. I had a m/c last year and then stillbirth this year so now that I've had 2 pregnancy losses I feel like a failure. When I'm at work I feel like people see me as an worthless woman who can't carry on a pregnancy, like something has to be wrong with me or my genes. My HR rep told me that my baby was probably retarde and nature has a way of ridding a baby with abnormalities.
The prego girl at work has 5 kids already so a coworker said, "Her body is made to make babies, maybe there's something wrong with yours." I also can't help but notice the pity looks they give me and how silent they get when I walk by and they're talking about their pregnant daughters and making a fuss about the prego girl.
One of my best friends (who hasn't called me since I told her my baby died) also made a comment about there's probably something wrong with my insides. WTF! I am perfectly healthy and normal, I have a 6 year old son, but for some reason God has saw it fit to take my Michaela. My in-laws also have a knack for making me feel inferior since my SIL had two healthy babies 13 months apart. Well excuse me for not being her. Enough rambling, I was just wondering if it's normal to feel ashamed. If I could only stop feeling that way I think I will win half the battle. I hate having the stigma of "the girl who lost her baby".
