Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
Perhaps there was a reason, some sort of physical problem that was unseen that caused labor to initiate which was unstoppable by your body? Perhaps that same physical problem was what caused your baby's death.
I wish I had a better answer for you. So sorry for your loss and I hope some of the other moms have better insight for you.
I lost my daughter, Makenna, at 23 weeks. I went through the barrage of tests, blood work & everything else - partly because I have 3 living children who were "model" pregnancies. I never had so much as swelling (even with 2 August babies) - Makenna's death came out of no where - everything had been fine - no spotting, cramping, etc etc - I had even joked with my OB that I didn't even feel pregnant. It was a routine OB appointment that we discovered her heart had stopped - I felt her moving when I went to bed the night before.
The best "guess" I have been given as a reason for her death was that there was a cord compression of some kind (though she wasn't tangled at birth) & that combined with my naturally low blood pressure kept her from getting an adequate blood supply (when she was born she was small for her gestational age).
I wish it was something I could take a pill for to prevent from happening again. The reasons (or lack there of) can help with closure - or just bring up a whole other slew of emotions. There really isn't anything that makes it "ok" or "understandable" that we don't have our babies with us who we love so much.
I am sorry you aren't getting the answers you need. We are here for you anytime you want to talk.

Like you, every test came back normal/negative--my blood work for glucose, thyroid, the amnio, the placenta. The Dr. did see some clots on the fetal side of the placenta, so he is chalking it up to a "fluke" happening of a fetal blood vessel hemorrhaging.
It was my first pregnancy, and was extremely easy, and I had also made jokes about not feeling pregnant.
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm also sorry that you don't have any answers. This sucks.
